Since it's summer and it got up to 89 degrees today I decided to ask this ice cold question for you. What happens when you drink something quickly that's really cold like an ice cold shake, what happens? Do you get a brain freeze like I do or do you get that painful response someplace else?

not at all, i can down some ice cream like mad and be unaffected.

It's as if I have nails being pounded into the back of my eyes. But that only happens when I consume a large portion of a popsicle or ice cream too fast.

Give me a solid piece of popsicle, I'll swallow it. you'd think I learned from the pros.

I get bad brain freeze....I run around the living room with my eyes squinched almost shut and howl like a wounded gorilla. ;)

Wirelessly posted (sent from a smartphone. )

I don't get brain freeze but do feel cold throat lol.

I get the "pain" on the roof of my mouth in the back. Water seems to help.

Wish it was 89 here, its been like 99-110, and HUMID!! I eat ice cream everyday! :) And sometimes I get a 'brain freeze'.

I do not get brain freeze, but son does and his turn into migraines. He never learns. Hubby works for an ice cream company so he sometimes brings some home. I don't get to eat it, but the family is appreciative of it.

For me, it usually lasts a few seconds at the most, it never turns into a headache or anything remotely close to it. In fact, I rarely get headaches at all.

I get this pain in the optic nerve and it is enough to double me over in agony. I am really careful when I eat frozen treats.

I usually do not get it from ice cream. Frozen drinks are a different story. I always get a brain freeze right behind my eyebrows. I take a pant and grunt in pain when I get them.. then I go right back to taking another swig of my drink.
