Hi,everybody!

I'd like to introduce myself to you. My name is Tim,34 yrs old and from Ohio. Im legally deaf. I can hear some so I read lips. I can only hear with my left ear but only with the hearing aid. I know some asl. :) Im full time disability. I collect SSI and have medicare. Better than nothing,right?

I want to make new friends b/c I really dont know a lot of people in my area. I live in village (small town) about 45 miles from Columbus,OH. I need to find deaf community b/c it is hard to communicate with hearing people. I grew up in small town but I went to all schools 50 miles away. So, I really dont know people. Ha ha. I hope I make a lot of friends here and maybe hang out in person. Thanks for reading. :)

There is a Deaf Community in Columbus due to the Deaf School being there....and it is Hoh friendly (I just checked the state school's site, and it includes a BAHA kid and a bilateral CI kid as well as a ton of CI kids)
Oh, and I feel for you! I was mainstreamed in a small snotty town, and have no real connection to my town.....

Hi there. Im glad you know how I feel. It sucks not to have no connection in my hometown,at all. I feel for you,too. :aw:
 
I wish you were nearby......would love to meet you, but I'm in MA. ...Maybe someday when we have an Alldeaf getogether!
