Jack Kevorkian a.k.a Dr Death has died.

Good, may he rot in hell....

He should've died in prison, 8 years out of a 25 year prison sentence. The system is a joke.

I wonder if he was "assisted" toward his final breath?

I noticed he died in the hospital, so I assumed he just did it the natural way.

Wow... so you're against the right of people to decide how their dying should be? Ok.

I really hope you don't get a terminal illness. I will be praying for you.

Ah, I remember the Dr. Jack Kevorkian controversy in the late 1990s. It's still very touchy. While I don't encourage suicide, at the same time I believe in death with dignity. I guess I'm somewhere in between on this one.

He was alot more than just helping people kill themselves/ he aided in the murder by providing materials that enabled them to kill themselves. He's an enabler. Pure and simple.

Jack Kevorkian was of Armenian descent. His parents were immigrants that escaped the holocaust of the Armenians by the Turks. Dr. Kevorkian often stated that the Jews did not suffer as much as the Armenians because Armenians were brutally tortured while most of the Jews were just put to death in the gas chambers. Did he hear this discussed as a child? Did it desensitize him to death from his early beginnings in childhood? He did pay attention to the experimentation by the Nazis during WWII.

Not surprising how his obsession with death came about from all this........

His paintings backs that assertion....

This one is interesting, on the left hat contains Christian and Jewish symbols and a Nazi helmet on the right containing bullets. Pretty graphic image that shows his state of mind.....

Note the Christmas Tree is a corpse and if you look closely underneath the Santa boot in the fireplace, Baby Jesus in a Manger is in the fireplace being stepped on...

So as you can see some glimpse of the mind of JK based from his paintings, it clearly shows his obsession with death and the reason why he used "assistant suicide" to mask his obsession because he wanted to watch people die up close and personal.

He's pretty demented.....

Those are truly his paintings? I'd agree he appears to be demented.

A big part of the controversy with Kevorkian is that some of the people he "assisted" out of this life could have been helped with anti-depressants and other treatment. They were not all terminally ill.

That's why he got charged with murder and sent to prison. He went too far.

What? Was he a pornographer? TSA screener? Pedophile? :hmm:

What did he do that was so heinous?

Killed people who didn't need killing, in short.
That's one opinion.

I don't remember much about him. But wasn't he involved with assisting suicides of terminally ill people?

It's not like he was Jack the Ripper.

It's another thread, but don't you think people might want to die with dignity intact? Instead of a wasted wreck?

Wow, I never knew he was talented with paintings! I actually like them - they push buttons on people's comfort level.

Funny how we have no problems putting animals to sleep because we feel it's best that they be taken out of their misery but we have problems when it comes to humans!

because of him - several states especially Oregon passed "Death with Dignity" Act. Kevorkian.

same. I find it very fascinating even though it was bit disturbing.

Yeah, I know, but it is a little more complex with humans.
