Sarah Palin rolls into Washington on a "Harley"

Oh man. All you motorcycle buffs are just looney birds!
Just visit the fracture ward in any hospital...

Dat be why I don't ride anymore!

I can dig it!
It is weird, but it seems like no one in AD has cracked up on a motorcycle. I personally do not have a single solitary friend who never crashed (with varying degrees of injury, including two deaths of dear friends). I hung up the helmet over 20 years ago and suspect it was a wise move.
I rode a Honda 750 and loved it, but...

I try not to think about stuff like this re my little sister and my BIL.

Of all the people I know who rode, and there were lots of them, I've never known one that didn't crash, either. My brother had several crashes over the years, and ended up with pins in an ankle, a wrist, and shoulder surgery as a result. Have had a couple of friends die, as well. I stopped riding when the guy I referred to earlier took a bike he was checking out after working on it for a ride, hit a low spot in the road, kick stand came down, and he finally was able to lay the bike down after going over an embankment and through a field. And he had been riding for, I know, at least 40 years at the time.

I had many dirt bike "incidents" but never on a street bike. I have had friends die on them though. One hit a cow.

I had a 650 Suzuki back when I was in my early 20s. After a year, gave it up and sold it to my step-Dad. I wouldn't mind getting a HD someday.

I have been riding since I was 16 and never crashed. While living in Pensacola, FL in 1974, I skidded up under the back of a quick stopping stake truck with no damage. (my fault for not focusing)

And last fall with Reba on, a close call with a pickup truck.

Thankfully that's about it.

I have listened to other PGR riders who said had accidents with broken bones. I try not to ride near them on the mission runs.

I might just be a happy loony bird!

My only broken bones happened when:

I was speed racing at a roller skating rink. Tripping over a stack of firewood. An auto accident (not my fault) in 1998.

Ouch. That must have hurt.

I don't trust me with motorcylces cuz I've had several accidents over the years.

 my first broken bone was from Roller racing.

Mine happened when I jaywalked while drunk in 84. Both my legs broken. :(

Dang!

I have a friend that broke both of his legs sky diving. The wind carried him off his mark, and he came down on the side of the Interstate. He was fine, started to fold his chute, the wind caught it and drug him across the Interstate, car hit him and broke both his legs.

My first broken bone came from playing softball. Dove after a grounder and broke my wrist.

:hmm: As far as I can tell, I don't think my little sister has ever been in a car accident. She's not as accident prone as me and I hope she takes after my dad in this respect. My dad never had an accident till he was 78 and driving while he was very ill with pneumonia. He said he didn't know he had that. My dad has been driving since he was 14.
