Hello alldeaf.com. I have come to this forum with two specific purposes in mind. The first is to better myself at learning sign language. The second is to spread this art to all I possibly can through media and personal connections.

Relevant facts about me:

I hear perfectly.
I am a "self taught" signer learning from videos off of YouTube.
I'm American, learning ASL.
I'm open to learning non-ASL signs.

If anyone is curious about me, just ask and I will do my best to answer.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. First of all, you need to learn the proper signs whether in ASL or any other sign language like BSL (British Sign Language) in the community college or at the Hearing Society in your area. Trying to learn from online videos or pictures will not help you sign correctly. Maybe you can learn the easy way to correct your signs is by going to the Deaf Events or the Deaf Community in your area.

I am from both United States (born there) and Canada (most of my ancestors were from Canada mostly from Quebec). I married to my husband of almost 14 years (born here in Canada). We are both Native Americans. I am Deaf and he is hearing.

So now that you know about us, just enjoy reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.

Hi WL,
I actually have only one question - what's your name? :)

My name is David.

I'll try to find a deaf community near me, but I haven't had much luck with the library. I guess I'll try to google it or something. Other than that I have found books on the grammar of sign language, which reminds me a lot of Japanese.
