It is real bad for us Canadians who heavily use internet for many purposes.

You need to sign Open Media petition to stop Internet Metering.

Right now it is brought into our Parliament. NDP and Bloc Quebec are opposing the CRTC decision that has allowed it so we need to get Liberals join them to defeat this decision.

I signed the petition last night and posted several links on my FB page as well. It's outrageous.

Thank you so much I am support you I did before petion!

The CRTC decision is now being reviewed which is a little good news. I hope it will be reversed at end of this month. Industry Minister Tony Clements called it anti-competition against small ISPs and unfair against regular consumers.

Right. The internet infrastructure that Bell supposedly built was in fact, heavily subsidized by the government. I have never liked Bell, I have never subscribed to any of their services and I don't ever intend to. The quality of their products and services are pretty poor from what I have experienced.

I don't live in Canada, but I would hate this particular plan! I hope it gets defeated and it stays the same flat-fee billing.

I absolutely agree with you. Should the decision be reversed, I will switch to Teksavvy which offers a much better package than Rogers.

Feel for you Canadians and hope it won't happen, too. Canadians have much longer winter periods so expect more Internet usage so it would make sense for them to access with unlimited usage... but will the Canadians accept to pay more in order to prevent the limit usage?

web370 its got nothing to do with winter, its the 'digital economy' that the governments.business wish to exploit a little earlier...its not new, its called Bundled networks...NZ has it, and one thing you find that will drop dramatically is, the seeders in torrents and P2P networks...since the uploads it likely to be seen as a nuisence to avoid in order to get the most out of the metered system by not wasting data in uploads to strangers...its a clever ploy to make torrents less attractive, that said, i would be surprised if within 5 year America will follow it too
