SOQUEL, Calif. -- A California entrepreneur has plans to market a line medical marijuana soft drinks.

Clay Butler says he plans to supply medical marijuana dispensaries with his soda pot, which contains the psychoactive marijuana ingredient THC.

Marijuana drinks are already showing up here and there, but Butler says he thinks his branding savvy will make his product a hit.

Besides his flagship cola drink, Canna Cola, he will also produce Dr. Pepper-like Doc Weed, lemon-lime Sour Diesel, grape-flavored Grape Ape and orange-flavored Orange Kush.

A 12-ounce bottle will cost $10 to $15.

The Soquel-based commercial artist tells the Santa Cruz Sentinel that he doesn't do drugs or need medical marijuana for any ailments.

I don't find this strange nor stupid. I actually think it's a good idea for those who use medical marijuana for pain or symptom relief.

FYI: California has a state law allowing MM to be dispensed with a Dr's script. Unfortunately, Federal law still forbids it.

Anyway, cool idea!
 
Huh, already has been in the making, 2 years at least. Boulder has a company that does the same. Also has lemonades that apparently is good.
 
a long time ago, Coca Cola had cocaine as a main ingredient (heroin was a legal and popular pasttime back then too, even doctors would prescribe for your colds, etc!). then the drug law came in, (Coke had to change, but find a means to keep people 'happy' by switching to caffaine - i think its also chosen for its additive quality too, to ensure people keep buying Coke...

naw but every drink, im not like that, im quite fussy...i dislike gin, cheap whiskey blends, not keen on cocktails, cheap beers (i call it sludges- its disgusting), cheap wines tastes hardly anything resembling wines.
i dont even drink vodka but would try a top-end or upper mid range voddy if offered but not a mixed drinks (cocktails or V&O, (screwdriver) not my thing i dont see a point of having a tasty drink designed to get you shitfaced in 5 mins...

my favourite type of wine is a well made 100% French Oak Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, or a decent big, buttery chard, still like sav blancs but its getting boring. Oh I Luve a a decent Gwerztraminer or a well made dry style german reisling or French Sauternes (Rothchilds)..

oh and single malt scots of course (even the japanese whisky...) some bourbons

oh shit now i know what you mean, i have fairly broad tastes ... lol

ah ok , you can check for Whitehaven 2010 (or 2009) Sauvignon Blanc - I had a 2009 last nght very nice drinking. If not, there is better chance you'd come across "Cloudy Bay" Sauvignon Blanc , again not cheap but they are very good, actually a long standing name- Cloudy Bay is like synonymous New Zealand ...it's that kind of famousness for wines...probably found in specialist wine shops over there in the States...

I havent tried anything really fun in 3 decades but I would try a half of a soda pot out of curiosity if it was legal or I had a script.
