Sounds like it might be a crackdown on an international drug ring that includes the U.S. and a Central American country. ICE usually gets involved in these cases if the FBI discovers those who are involved in the crime ring are also here in this country illegally. ICE will detain them and those who are here illegally and found guilty of their crimes will serve their full prison sentence here in the United States and upon completion will be deported back to country of origin.
