so this is another exam review question. Of course algebra haha. I need some more help on inequalities.

My reiview papers is on adding and subtracting inequlities
I.e:: 22> m-8 12= x-10

Mulitiplication and devision

(the < is or equal to with an line underneath it.)
n/6 < 8

-4/3 > -10 (no line underneath)

and multi-step inequalities. This one, i'm having the difficult time trying to solve this part.

4(3t-5)+ 7 > 8t+ 3
(line underneath the >)

9t- 5( t- -5) < 4 (t-3)
(line underneath the <)

then finally there's a system of inequalities. which involves solving the problem and then trying to graph it. this one, i'm having a hard time as well.

help would be appreciated!! :ty:

aha a break from poker is needed here. mmm

I am not sure that I can help with all of them but here goes the ones I am sure of

4(3t-5)+ 7 > 8t+ 3
(line underneath the >)

foil them out
12t-20+7> 8t+3

then combine like terms and isolate the variable

12t-13>8t+3
-8t -8t

4t-13>3
+13>+13

4t>16
4 4

t> 4

9t- 5( t- -5) < 4 (t-3)
(line underneath the <)

is this t minus negative 5?

-4/3 > -10 (no line underneath)

where is the variable

n/6 < 8 first find the LCD (lowest common denominator) in this case its 6

n/6 six goes into its self once so the and you multiply by that number so it becomes 6n

6(8) is 48

6n<48

divide by 6

n=8

9t- 5( t- -5) < 4 (t-3)
(line underneath the <)

OK foil it out

9t-5t+25 (the t- -5 makes the 5 a positive number)

9t-5t+25< 4t-12

Combine like terms

4t+25<4t-12

ok your answer is going to be no solution here
when you move your variable to combine terms its going to cancel the other out and your answer is 0

you know you can youtube how to solve inequalitites and just follow them as they work it out on paper

When I took an algebra course in college my professor tried to help me after class , and he told me I should take good stiff drink before class to try and relax! being dyslexia did not help at all! I had to drop out of the class!

When I took algebra, it was way too long ago. I get back into it next school year or so. Son is doing pre-algebra this year in Home School.
