LOL:laugh2: You are truly hysterical. Please, please deal with the issues you have regarding your own deaf child. Mine, on the other hand, is successful orally and signing. He is truly bilingual, which all professionals know offers a distinct advantage both linguistically and cognitively.

No, try and keep up, what works best for the child. Maybe this is a concept that you are struggling with but each and every child is unique and what works for one child may not be best for another and likewise what did not work for one child may be the best option for another.

You still don't get it. What the HEARING PARENT wants to believe works best for the DEAF CHILD. Believing that every child is so unique that they alone possess needs that no other child on this earth has is doing a disservice to your child.

It's okay. I gave my child all options. As a consequence, he can communicate in English verbally and in writing, and in ASL. He is bilingual. I personally see that as more of an advantage than simply amplifying sound and being restricted to oral only.

BTW, I see a lot of projecting of one's own insecurities regarding parenting going on there.

They have the right. Given the reasoning behind many of their choices, it is obvious that they don't have anything closely resembling ability.:cool2:

Not projecting onto AD just giving you a taste of your own medicine.

Getting pretty defensive aren't you. Guess I hit a nerve. Invoking the defense mechanism of speaking for an entire group is always the sign of a weak argument.

BTW my child will soon be graduating from Grad School, getting a job and enjoying her life with her friends both hearing and deaf. "Insecurities" about our choices, looks like they turned out pretty dam good. Especially the one we made about the ci at a time when you, Harlan Lane and the NAD were all saying that it would not work.

Absolutely !! And I'm working to be trilingual! I've got a strong foundation with my English that learning yet another language is coming along. :D

The world does not revolve around you and your child. And yes, your insecurities are quite obvious. Your projection as well. It has all been obvious for a few years now.

Harlan Lane, the good people at NAD, and I all have credentials that allow us to make those assessments. You, angry man, do not. Anything you claim is seen with a huge grain of salt.

I do believe she have college education as I believe every deaf here have one too if they say they do. Even Jillos son and Shel's brother.
