Say again? You think Obama's irresponsible with deficit and spending? :)

"The budget deficit for fiscal 2010 narrowed to $1.294 trillion from last year's record $1.416 trillion as tax collections started to recover and bailout spending fell sharply.

The Treasury Department said on Friday the deficit came to 8.94 percent of gross domestic product for the year ended September 30, versus 10 percent in fiscal 2009.

The government called the deficit-to-GDP improvement the biggest since fiscal 1987."

I approve of this post.....

You're neglecting to look at the whole report - we improved the ratio of deficit to GDP and that's what counts the most. It doesn't matter if it's a billion or a trillion.

It happened a year sooner than projected and that says something. :)

What?

That the "party of no" saved the day???? The key to slowing spending is more vacations???? It's hard to campaign and spend at the same time???

1.3 TRILLION in DEFICIT spending!!!

He should spend 1.4 gazillion in 2011 and then drop it to 1.3 gazillion in 2012. Just think about that drop in relation to GDP :) He would be like Superman

1 trillion dollars.. of defict.. and you think thats responsible? Who's your accountant?

Do the math - it doesn't matter if it's trillion, billion, or thousands. It's the ratio of deficit-to-GDP that counts and we improved a bit than originally thought.

Our trillions deficit is inevitable. We will ALWAYS have the deficit. We just have to keep improving the ratio.

As for who's responsible... blame Bush. He spent like there's no tomorrow and he helped the rich with more tax cuts. As a result, we're left with trillions of dollars in deficit. Recession began with Bush. Obama inherited the mess.

As you can see.. Bush screwed up our budget. major time.

"1 trillion dollars.. of defict.. and you think thats responsible? Who's your accountant?"

If a guy pays $20 more on his monthly payments for his CC debt yet it's still around $10,000, you want to keep talking about the $10,000 debt rather than to see that he's paying MORE than ever to pay off his debt sooner?

Stop wars, improve military, increase tax rate to the rich, (both total over a trillion in loss) and that will solve our fiscal problems in the long run. It's that simple.

and seeking to combat over billion dollars in Medicare fraud too and stop to spending whatever programs aren't working or helpful.

I conclude that everything went downhill from Bush Sr on, although Clinton tried as best as he could to reduce it to pre-Bush numbers.

Why does that set of graphs exclude a few important information.
First being: Bush made 600 billion dollars of new deficit a year, Obama: 1.4 and 1.3 trillion...
Second being: 2004 to 2009 is "projected" This set of graph is 6 years old. Get something current.

In regards to talking about paying the $20 to the debt. What do you do when you don't have that $20? You borrow money, right.. In this case, what money do we borrow?

One other thing that is "smaller than expected" is your post count. What happened?

.

Umm..... Yes it DOES matter. You realize of course that we pay interest on that deficit. And just think of the record ratio if the deficit were in the thousands.... :)

Paying extra???? how does that apply? No here we are talking about a guy that makes $100,000 a year borrowing $10,000 one year then borrowing only $8,900 the next without having paid back the original $10,000......He is still borrowing alot of money and paying alot of interest.
