The recession was made in China

made in china

Makes me think of a PBS show I saw recently about a jeans manufacture somewhere in china. They were not paying their workers after 2 months !! And these workers were putting in 20 hour days. Really shitty conditions but it is caused by the value of our dollars. China can not keep making things so cheap. It will bite them in the ass in the next 10years. No way they can control things.
Right now china is trying to get out of making things for other companies and making the same products with their own company name. So they steal all manufacturing, design and technical information from say a car manufatureer and just make it for themselves.
Sure is making things crazy and no help in this reciession. I wonder exactly how much surlus cash china is sitting on

Deal with it - we took advantage of other countries with their cheap labor so we can have cheap things.

Problem, people won't stop buy. Whatever is cheap, they're buy.

For example, Apple is try to make everybody happy to have iPhone when they use China's factory to make cheap as possible. If made in other country... I say Mexico. It would cost probably too much.

I keep hearing people say "Money is the root of all evil."
Actually it is "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil."
just saying.

If a large number of people are out of work for a long time, they won't buy no matter how cheap it is.

Problem is ...

1) China sells us more than it buys.
2) Therefore China accumulates dollars.
3) Therefore China spends the dollars.
4) Therefore the dollar declines relative to Chinese currency.
5) Therefore Chinese goods become more expensive.
6) Therefore Americans buy less from China and sell more.
7) Therefore the trade surplus ends. It's all beautifully self-regulating.

The trouble with the theory is that in China's case, step 3) does not happen.

China is hiding all the US dollars? :Ohno:

no. the real problem is - Chinese government is continuing to undervalue its currency.

china's world

China is pretty much buying it's way to world super power status. And the world is still helping that happen. With their stockpile of cash and their citizen still ruled without law except the law of expolation china has a plan. Their navy is growing, their space program has advanced by a huge amount. They are in bed with the russians and north korea. And now are buying up european companies because in europe theyare even worse off financially then the USA.
Of sure, a flippant response of "deal with it" is just what we need. We need a stronger america and to do they we need to be the best at something.

their navy is growing? lol you might want to look at their ships. it's from Cold War era, bought up from Russians' junkyard and retrofitted with Chinese products along with some stolen American secrets.

the technological level of their space program is the same as what we were back in Kennedy era.

they may be in bed with Russians and North Koreans but they still lack technology and fund to reach the superpower status. They're still several decades behind. All you have to do is look at this graph and this is why we're 2 steps ahead of everybody. 46.5% (USA) vs 6.6% (China)? comical.

beside... each well-developed country is very tight-lipped with their military technology secrets. Nobody wants other people to be more advanced and powerful than themselves. Russians wouldn't dare to put itself at mercy with the Chinese.

That's why USA sells the bare-version of fighter jets to Israelis.

Sell??? Bare-version? Oh come on. We GIVE to them everything they need to make it top-of-the-line. To put into perspective how much we give in aid to Israel, every person there would get over 35,000 dollars. Phooey.

mao's army

China still has the numbers when it comes to boots on the ground. Their navy is growing in the china sea and they expect to be building an aircraaft carrier. Part of their money for militarybuild up has to be coming from their trade surplus cache. Their rocket development covers a bigger area every year so the usa navy has more to worry about. The airforce is constantly playing chicken with the chinese airforce. Good practice for both sides but that will just keep escalating. The usa has to back off more and more to avoid any serious mishaps.

1. Americans sold mostly older-generations such as F-15 to Israelis
2. It took Israelis a very long time just to buy a dozen of F-35
3. Did you know USA sold more weapons to Saudi Arabia than they do to Israelis?
4. The Americans heavily and strictly regulated their military technology & weapons sold/given to Israelis. About 15 years ago, the Americans got furious when they found out that the Israelis violated the weapon arms agreement because Israelis sold/transferred the American technology (weapon) to another country like selling cluster bombs to Ethiopia which used it on Sudan. There was a dispute about Israelis sharing classified data on the Patriot defense system to Chinese.
5. why it's all kept hush hush? Because the Americans buy lot of Israelis military technology

oh well

hey I've got no problem with letting the Chinese ramp up its war effort because they'll end up like Russian in the end - flat-out broke!

let them build aircraft carriers. It'll make a good target practice for our submarines or long-range missiles that they'll never see it coming until at the last few minutes.

feels bad, man... Million Chinamen drowning at the sea....
