so yea, lets discuss the egg recall..

sure if we have 50 hens but we have thousands and thousands of them. got $$$?

for this - blame Obama.

Got $ - why are you asking me this question. Previous President, and the current one - they're able to send the troops to other county, and spend over trillions dollars in the war.

clean up the hen, test them, n etc - it won't cost over trillion dollars. what are you thinking? :eek3:

We must return to subsistence farming. I'm in trouble.

i can see it... lemme do calculations...

Man hours to do the testing on 4 million chickens. if it takes 3 minutes just to draw blood, and record the number which chicken is which...
200,000 man hours to just draw blood and label chicken.

Each testing equipment is probably $10 - so, at a rate of $12 an hour - it will cost them $42.4m just to test.

Then to kill them, they will have to chase all that chicken around and do some serious damage. Introducing new chickens ot the mix, biosecuring their farm will come to about $100,000,000. That's 20 cents per egg.

I don't see it happening.

So what do you suggest, then?

huh? why? why should we taxpayers pay for this? government doesn't own this chicken business. It's corporation's responsibility. If the Fat Cats have money to inoculate them all, cool. if not - well not my problem but they can't sell.

95% of us eat chicken, hen, eggs n etc

so write a letter to corporations to improve their business. Beside - this isn't affecting me at all because bad eggs are coming from Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms of Iowa. My eggs' from Organic Valley.

as the matter of fact - I'm having chicken for dinner soon

I read that Lenexa, KS base company are providing Salmonella vaccination for millions of hens. That's few miles where I live. There are 2 other big company doing same thing.

So guess we're not in serious situation.

Those who swallows raw eggs will have to stop swallowing it :eek2:

I use either Eggbeater or just eggs to cook or mix with cookie dough. Cooking does kills Salmonella anyway.

Catty

So, maybe they could hatch the eggs and have a whole lotta baby chicks?

I believe the bigger problem is people aren't cooking their eggs properly. Salmonella will die if you get the heat high enough. Thus, I will continue to eat my fried egg sandwiches because eggs have never made me sick. Uncooked chicken from public places is a whole 'notha topic though.
