He did what the terminally ill patients wanted him to do. Why is that even a problem?

TXGolfer, a lot of people don't realize that the more you cling to life, the worse you affect the beloved ones more because it makes them watch you suffer in pain. It's NOT inspirational. When you make it clear that you're terminally ill and accept death with dignity with minimal suffering, then you make others feel better and help them deal with their death.
Sadly, a lot of people don't have that courage to face death when they have terminal illnesses. Clinging to every last minute of your life is horrible. It only makes you die horribly and inflict more mental pain on others. It also costs money and time. You need to stop stressing people out.
That's why I honestly believe that all terminal patients should be counseled on end of life options.

Some value life for what it is and the chance to see their loved ones and part wisdom before going.
how selfish of them when their loved one is dying and is in great pain that cannot be described

hint - I'm not referring "loved one" to those standing by the bedside![]()
I understand......but that is not what the post you quoted was referring to.
Hence.... I think you misread it.
on related note:
Religious doctors are twice more likely to prolong pain and suffering.

Just because his quote is in my post doesn't mean I'm replying to it. I'm offering the different POV added to it.
