No they haven't. All you have said is "eugenic overtones" "health of the deaf community" and "read the bill". None of that is a "clearly stated objection"

FJ, you are not paying attention to the entire discussion. Stop with the me vs. them perspective and start looking at the implications for the deaf community as a whole...a community your child belongs to. Your defensiveness is really getting in the way of you seeing these issues for what they are. That is not intended as an insult. It is intended as a recommendation to change your perspective before you shoot yourself in the foot.

Stop dancing and answer my questions. You have no ligitimate points and that is why you play games. There is NOTHING in the bill that harms the Deaf community, nothing that harms my child or her peers. That is my point!

From your perspective there is nothing that harms the deaf community. From others' perspective, there most definately are items contained that are harmful.

I am not dancing. I have stated everything clearly. Everyone else seems to understand my posts. You are the only one that seems to be having trouble with it. I suggest it is not my posts that are the issue, but your perpsective.

You have not pointed to a single thing in the bill that you object to as audist or eugenic in nature. You say it is purely a perspective. That is disingenious. The bill is clean.

That's great for the parent and the child. Why is it so hard for you to accept that some deaf people can function as hearing people?

It becomes a problem when general society uses those few deaf people who are "hearing" and expects that from all deaf people.

I was used as a poster child of a deaf person functioning normal. I wasnt fair to me or to many deaf people in the area.

Sadly, it's not fair to many deaf people like me or you but you know that some deaf children do quite remarkably well with CI's or hearing aids. I know a few and sometimes I think they're not really deaf.

I met two deaf adults with CI's who claim they never socialized with deaf people and I watched them having normal conversations with the hearing; I asked the hearing if they understand them and they said yes... they didn't even know that those people are really deaf.

On the other hand, I've met deaf people who claim to have great speech skills only to make fools out of themselves. Sometimes just listening to them speak is all I need to know that they got deaf voice and I also ask hearing people if they understand them and they said no.

Anyway, the point is that there is a large variation in the outcome of deaf children's ability to speak and comprehend speech with HA's or CI's. It's much easier IF you can comprehend and speak well - you'd never realize how much convenience you'd get from being able to hear well or speak well. Convenience is important.

Because it is not same as hearing people. I was hearing once and it is not same as hearing people. We are visual thinkers not sound thinkers. They can act alike them but never will be function as hearing ever even with implant or HA.

Of course, but if you CAN function as a hearing person with HA or CI, what's wrong with that?
