a slight tremor

The epicenter is 80 KM north of here in Ottawa.

My ass got lifted and shaken from my office chair while working.

We had to leave the building for safety's sakes then we were told to go home about 30 minutes later.

It is the strongest one that I had ever felt since I moved to this city in 2001.

Did they give you a rationale/reason why you all were to go home?

Glad you are ok. how is your home ? your kitties ok? :eek3:

Watch your animals.. especially cats. They will know when it is an earthquake before it happens. I have seen them do unusual behavior.

Asian cultures say that animals know how to sense it before it happens.

I think my cat got wildly startled when I got home. I felt strong that he knew what happened. My home is safe. :)

I haven't gone to home yet. It was only 5 to 8 seconds shaken here. i assume my home should be ok too. i won't go home till later.

Yes right on. That is why I never saw him got startled that wild before.

A 5.4 was recorded back in 1998. I remember that one, but I didn't feel that one since I was on the taxi at the time of the event.

Here's an update:

They changed the location of epicenter to 53 KM north-northeastern of here. And, they also changed the Richter scale to 5.0.
