Gulf residents outraged by BP CEO's yacht outing

It really makes me sad. I used to go fishing with my grandpa, my dad, my uncle and brother in the Gulf one weekend every month. I was planning on doing the same with my nephews and maybe one day, my children and grandchildren.

Will I ever get the chance to do that now? Will it be dead?

The Gulf is very very very very special to me - more emotional than anything. It's where I bonded with my elders.

It means oil drilling moratorium is invalid and unenforceable so they can resume to drill the oil in deepwater now instead of 6 month.

no they can't. they still need federal permit. the moratorium may be nullified but it doesn't mean the federal government has to respond to permit application in timely manner ;)

exactly what NJ State Police does for my firearm license. I waited 3+ months :mad2:

Yup, you aren't alone and I'm very sad about what happened to the Gulf.

Oh, my bad, thanks for correct my post.

I just saw this news article - a Judge blocked Obama's offshore drilling ban:

Judge blocks Gulf offshore drilling moratorium - Yahoo! News

???

Been posted in another thread, too. Just another case of those with profits as their primary motive ignoring the possibility or further destruction. The judge's ruling will be under immediate appeal, which means that the moratorium will stand while the judge's ruling is being appealed.

Yup, that what I was think about some companies are greedy and don't care about oil disaster occurred. I believe that moratorium should be in place until they complete the safety review and I don't want other oil spill to occur in same coast.

I'm going praying about oil spill won't occur again and hopefully that oil workers will be careful with their job.

This is good news. I suppose Obama will try and sue the judge for making him look bad in this decision? Oh well, will the WH administration ramp up on the number of oil rig inspectors and start levying out fines? That will take years.

will you ever shut the fuck up?

oh! the horror! such a potty mouth I have! *faint*

Foxrac, I already said this was an ecological disaster worse than Katrina.

You people need to stop with this pointless mewlings about how I should act or respond about this oil gusher. Already, this is an ecological disaster that's 10 times worse than Katrina. It'll take years for the ecosystem to recover. Plenty of blame to go around. Plenty of work to do with no thanks to BP and the Obama administration.

thank you. that's what I want to hear. finally.

now - how about solutions?

One thing a lot of haters tend to forget is that Katrina was act upon because it was within government bounds. Thus government took care of their reprimands swiftly. Katrina as a hurricane itself was a "natural" disaster that wasn't induced by mankind unless you want to count the possibility of man's involvement on the ocean.

The difference with the BP spill is obviously that it is caused by human mistake, just without intent.

Common saying goes: those who make mistakes are the first that need to repair and reprimand for them. In other words, start with the BP filling the big boy shoes then worry about everyone else helping out.

That is probably one of the main reasons Obama didn't take an instant butt-in and declare "I am the leader in charge of this situation now" euphemism.
