We manage our money up here differently end of story. Just on a consumer level, we don't use/rely on credit nearly as much as americans do. It's not a knock on Americans or anything. Credit based living has become kind of a lifestyle/culture. Having more than 3 credit cards up here is kind of considered a lot.

Jews being cheap, oh whoopie. Like that's a bad thing? There's a reason that Jews are a very powerful entity in the US and also not usually very poor. If you are cheap and you save your money, the chances of you being poor is lessened. So Canadian's being "cheapskates" isn't a bad thing. Not spending beyond your means is always a good thing.
Plus you're asian, how would you feel if someone made a statement and said you were a cheapskate? Asians are "cheapskates" too. For the record, I'm asian too and I don't let my money burn through my pocket :p
