I live in Massachusetts and I been smelling burning odor in my home for days! I thought it was coming from the landfill which give off horrinle odors all the time! I called the fire department as I was smelling something burning all over the city today! I was told the smell was from a huge fire in Canada!
Does anyone live near this fire and could you tell me what cause it. It is odd I had heard nothing on the news about this! I hope no one has been hurt or killed in the fire, I feel horrible for all the widlife that getting killed in this fire!

So? Wildfires. Nothing you can do about them.

I been smelling it for days and had no idea what it was as there is no fire in my state and there been nothing on the news about the fire in Canada until today! I am smelling a fire that happening in Canada and I live in Mass. I happen to be very concerned about how big it is and I read on line it could get to the outlets in Kittery Maine! I feel horrible that more wildlife is getting killed on top of the in the oil spill! Wow what an attitude to have about people losing their homes and animals being burnt to death!

I grew up around threats of wildfires...

No attitude; just the fact of life. We're all at the mercy of nature.

Wildfire isn't easy to be stopped and take more time.

Really? I thought they would just throw some buckets of water on it.

I guess those guys that run out and fight those wildfires deserve alot of credit...........

I feel bad for the suffering of the wildlife killed in forest fires too.

It takes few days to be all stopped like happened to wildfires in CA.

There's over 1,200 firefighters trying to control the wildfires. That's a lot of firefighters. Yes, they do deserve a lot of credits for putting themselves at peril. There are dozens of fires across the province and Quebec, it's difficult to contain due to the lack of rain.

The problem is that in these weather conditions, more and more fires are occurring on their own without any help of arson.

Yup, it is and depends on how many of firefighters, it could be stopped in less than 24 hours.

Yes it is a major concern around my home in New Mexico as well. They are doing some mandatory tree thinning around the populated areas

We have wildfires here in Florida a hell of a lot due to dry weather...I'm sure Arizona does too....and I don't take them lightly. We've been lucky so far, we've had rain for 3 days now...it poured today....but come July & August, the threat intensifies....Several years ago, we had a bad one, and black ash was all in the air....I had to stay inside, due to breathing problems.

I can see smoke from the forest fires when I left my work. They got my eyes irritated.

There are 50 fires burning at once! I wonder if a pyromaina is starting some of the fires. when I lived in Northern CA.and there were two fire burning at once and the firemen said a pyromaina had to had set the fires as they could not had jumped the river that fast! The firemen notice at there was guy there and he was always around when there was fire!
