Everytime his wife gets hot, he covers her with dirt and beats her with a shovel.

That'd be Smokey Bear. That's his name. Not Smokey the Bear. You wouldn't call Santa Claus as Santa the Claus would you?

:)

:giggle: ....It's Smokey the Bear...."the Bear" becuz just Smokey could mean someone's name....so to make sure the joke is perceived about a bear, hence...Smokey the Bear....There's only 1 Santa Claus (e)....(kids think this way)...but adults believe/are that they're "Santa Claus(e)"....Anyhow, this is one of my favorite jokes...kinda cute, ain't it?

it's Smokey Bear.

Don't follow that...I've got a friend named Smokey, dogs & cats are named Smokey...and the joke is about a "Bear"...there's only (1) "Smokey the Bear" that most people recognize right off the bat....

Rockin.. Put it together. :)

Smokey Bear is his full name.

ahhhh...used to call my better half "Smokey Bear"....(due to his hairy chest)...had a cat named Smokey....a friend named Smokey....jeez!....alright...alright!...Alright! (as Seinfield says)....Smokey Bear...it is....

lol well - even though your hubby, cat, friend, etc are named Smokey.... we all still know Smokey Bear as the Bear.

no biggie but this joke was funny

I think it's a Deaf thing.

King Burger

Tire Canadian

Castle White

no, it's not a deaf thing. I think I called him Smokey the Bear too. I will get to to the bottom of this and figure out the extra need for the pronoun.

Damn koko and semantics :dizzy:

That should explain it.

I don't have a problem with calling him Smokey Bear or Smokey the Bear - I'll do whichever accommodates the speaker (signer).

Someone got problems though, I think... The rest just seemed like general corrections.

Well, the official website supports both names and explained the origin of "Smokey the Bear."

So... Mr. Technical isn't really Mr. Technical.
