did you not read the article? did you not see why and who refused the service to patron with service dog?

This article is SPECIFICALLY talking about Muslim people refusing to give service to patron with service dog - store, taxi, etc. Here's the link for you to read before you start angrily waving your white cane at me.

Muslim Taxi Drivers vs. Seeing-Eye Dogs :: Daniel Pipes (notice how kokonut reworded the exact title of the article)

still using that old line?

I have a pet peeve with you Jiro because you do not have an idea what it is like to be DeafBlind. You find it so easy to nitpick over the littlest details that are of very important value to us.

We, do not have to tell any drivers that we have a guide dog. It's just like any white cane user telling the driver he/she has a white cane.

I still use that same old line because it is applicable to you.

You are young, ignorant and sometimes I feel you need to shut the fuck up and sit back. Learn from the good old members that have been around longer.

No one, I know I don't like a hethinkheknowsitallbuthedoesn'tknowitallnincompoop that tells people left and right they are wrong.

P.S. Your boss called, he wants you back at work.

btw - the link where kokonut has posted it.... it's from Daniel Pipes (the owner and writer) of the site. He is well-known for writing anti-Islamic and pro-Israel contents.

this is a list of his articles (Articles by Daniel Pipes)

this article is about NYC. I'm sure it has happened in other area but I'm talking specifically about this article.

Is it not a flawed logic to establish a pattern in here?

There's a reason why I brought up Edmonton...

You see it as Islamic hate, I don't.

I see it as ignorance towards the blind and the need for the guide dog.

Jiro, I've had similar experiences like this from all walks of life towards me and my white cane.

Similar incidents have occurred in restaurants, too. A restaurant cannot refuse service to a blind person with a service dog based on a religious belief.

You're absolutely right. You're the first person to see this as an ignorance issue. Others are truly blind over this one thinking it's all about hating an ethnic group.

When I lived in Ottawa, there was a cab service I didn't use and it was because the drivers did not adhere to the common courtesy rules. It wasn't about the countries they came from or their heritage. They would take the $10.00 and not give change when the fare was only $5.65.

I'd demand the change back and they would put up a fight to the point they would haggle for the change to keep!

I do feel some people have their opinions I think they need to keep to themselves because they do go overboard with it to the point they become very redundant with it.

I was just griping a bit here.

Have been refused services because they didn't like the cover of the books I was reading. :\ No visual identity here, other than that most of them don't have a foreign accent. I don't even have to get into the car before they would make a big deal about it.

Called me jaded, but I don't it's just lack of education on service dogs. Cabbies discriminate across the board for their own selfish reasons.

Which is exactly what I'm advocating. Guide dog users should announce they have a dog when calling for a cab so the cab dispatcher can assign the ride to a driver who doesn't mind dogs. If you're in NYC and you just happen to hail down a cab driver who's opposed to dogs for whatever reason (Islam or not), the you can easily hail another cab.

If you're not in NYC and the street isn't chock full of cabs, then the cab driver should at least call in a replacement. It's the least they could do. Don't have to transport the dog, don't abandon the blind customer. It's win-win.

I said it was a cultural clash. Don't see how that's blaming any one side more than the other. The responsibility falls on both sides to resolve the situation.

Well, what about restaurants situations? It has happened before.

It's unfortunate the article colored it as anti-Islam. I'll give you that much. Personally, I don't see it as an issue of Muslim vs. non-Muslim. If a cab driver refuses a guide dog user for any reason, or a passenger with a service animal of any kind, it's their responsibility to get that passenger a replacement ride. That passenger still needs to get to their destination, and not only that, it's in the best interest of the driver and company to provide good customer service for their business reputation.

would you like to share other source about this? the one that isn't relating to Islamic people.

that I understand but it is best if the OP provided a source that doesn't ramble on Islamic people. I have a problem with OP's extreme hatred toward Islamic people. That is worse than refusing to provide service to DBer with service dog. People get killed over that kind of hatred, you know?

With restaurant situations, I think it's in the best interest of restaurant owners to accept guide dog users. Denying them is illegal and stains their business reputation.

no - you have a pet peeve with anything related to DeafBlind, not me. I have never claimed to know everything about DBer. In fact - I believe I have created a thread to learn more about DBer. and I extended the courtesy on my part by providing transcript on pictures I posted. Do you see that kind of courtesy on kokonut's part? :)

Secondly - because of your intensive fervor with DeafBlind rights, you are understandably unable to see the truth in the fog.

I can understand that. To balance out the image a little, here's an article about a Muslim guide dog user.

I am able to see the truth in the fog and if you are able to see through your ignorance about kokonut, you would have learned that he vlogged about me.

Kokonut blogged/vlogged about me and the accessibility of subtitling vlogs. This is where I encourage you to get to know him more.

For you to even imply I am "blind" to the truth because of my intense commitment to the DeafBlind rights, I can understand your implication because you haven't learned a lot about our culture and our community.

Time will be forgiving to you unless something tragic happens to one or two of your sense which I hope never does happen.

Again, I have a pet peeve with you and your attitude. I encourage you to learn about both sides. Instead of attacking all the time, try embracing and learning more.

Wow this thread got personal real fast.

Where do you get Islam from Kokonut's post?

It was Jiro's irrational post.

This goes to show how some people still have a hard-on trolling Kokonut.

From this article.

No, my post isn't directly from Jiro.

I'm asking kokonut about his views on this article, especially situation with Muslim people that follow the Islam, such as dogs are unclean and no boozes allowed in taxi or their community area.

A big question for you - Have I ever trivialized your DeafBlind rights?

and another thing - there are other sides (POV) in this story, do you agree? You see it as an issue of DB rights. I see it as a gross onslaught on Islamic people. Neither of our POVs is wrong.

got a link? His vblog about you was removed and deleted by... koko. :dunno:
