GOP gave a plan at the HC summit. I can't speak for the Bush admin since I am an independent and was not a Bush fan......especially in the second term. You have to admit the first term and start of the 2nd was pretty busy. As Jiro pointed out months ago How many presidents have had a Katrina? How many have seen an attack on our own soil? How many have seen three hurricanes hit one state (Florida) in one year? How many have had a Rita? Bush had all of those in a 4 year period. I am not a Bush fan but hard to compare his Presidency to others.

Oh really, I thought you were Bush fan because of being Texan. j/k

He was ok....I liked his first term...His second was bad.

I thought Cheney was a big mistake

Republicans are supposed to have health care reform during GWB Admin before too late so if they did so probably not need any democrats to have set own party health care reform.

Look at HIPAA and modernization of Medicare got bipartisan when republican were majority in congress so any health care bill that written by republican would get bipartisan so easily since democrats are more on their party.

Now, it is too late because it is passed so I guess that supreme court will going strike some of health care bill or not.

No, Republicans have always been AGAINST socialized health care.

Key word is "socialism".

What has always driven our economy has been FREE TRADE.

Socialism does not work, it is when the government regulates industry, such as what Obama is doing right now.

When has the US Government EVER made it a **requirement** that you MUST purchase ANYTHING just to be able to BREATHE AIR ??? or face stiff penalty and/or prison time if you do not comply?

It is this ideology that our founding fathers abhorred and fought against and these twisted politicians are claiming themselves to be patriots.

They are NOT patriots, they are communists. The anti-americans.

Traitors .. all of them. Traitors to the US Constitution.

One thing I hate more than socialists themselves... are people who don't understand how socialism operate.

99% of Americans don't even understand their own Constitution either.

Are you sure about health care bill that created by democrat is socialist? I still don't get from you.

US constitution is oldest one so communist isn't existing until 20th Century after Russia Revolution, even it isn't mention about communist in US constitution either.

Could you mind to educate us about how socialism operate and get better understand about own Constitution? I would like to learn a new thing or try to keep in my mind.

The concept of socialism didn't exist until the Industrial Revolution anyway.

Constitution-- that's why we have supreme courts to interpret it.

Socialism-- A good history professor will deal you a world of good. Can always refer to one from a university in Missouri. :)

The US Constitution was written after the American Revolution.

Why were Americans revolting?

They revolted because they were **required** to pay unfair taxes to the King of England. It was a bloody revolution and we won and gained our independence from a despotic ruler.

Our government was designed specifically so that "The People" hold the power and not the President or elected officials.

When the government passed a health care bill, that 75% of "The People" opposed, it not only was unconstitutional, it was an act of a despotic ruler.

It was the government imposing its will on "The People".

The same is said about communism. Communist leaders impose government will on the people.

What Obama did was something that should never have taken place in the U.S., and since it did, there will be a very large price to pay. He acted as a RULER, not a representer of the people.

Socialism. It boils down to this - government allocation of resources. No private property or individual liberty.

The American Revolution occurred because the people felt they were under-represented in the British Empire since the British Parliament kept passing laws upon their colonies without the settlers having a say in those policies and laws. Not because of taxations. Taxations without representation were the "straws" that broke the camel's back.

The anti-British sentiments back in 18th century Americas is very similar to the Scottish resentments nowadays.

You are correct that was the "official reason" but the real reason was displayed by the actions of those dumping tea into the Boston Harbor.

The tax on Tea was extremely high. If it werenot high, there would not have been stiff opposition.

A reactionary response is different from decades-worth of harboured bitterness.

75%? How did you found that 75% of Americans are against it?

Obama and rest of congresses are elected by people so they voted for them.

I wonder how long it will take Americans to realize they are not being represented.

Corporations are being represented now. Individual liberty is being stripped away.

Oh, sure, I will ask history professor at my college.

You're over-simplifying things.

A comparison and contrast reading between John Stuart Mill's On Liberty, Engels's The Condition of the Working Class in England in 1844 and Robert Owen's numerous works will outline the basic of what socialism is.

Obama and rest of congresses are elected by people so they voted for them.

It was reported by CNN, and I chose CNN over Fox (Fox says 65%) because CNN is a left leaning media outlet.

I will tell you why 75% oppose this bill.

Because it criminalizes you if you do not purchase health care insurance.

If it did not, and you could "opt-out" then there would not be such opposition.

Yes, trying to explain it to someone who asked what it was ;)

I read "On Liberty" about 17 years ago, so I am a bit rusty.

Well, On Liberty got nothing to do with socialism but rather classic liberalism (*coughs*libertarians*coughs*), however when you compare it to Robert Owen's works, the basics of socialism become glaringly obvious-- which is especially helpful because they came about during the same time period.
