Did anyone of you know about the Barnes and Noble EBook reader?

I always wanted and EBook, but Kindle and Sony are very expensive.

I just downloaded an EBook reader from Barnes and Noble to my netbook for free.

This is exciting! I can get EBooks with something I already had with no extra expense.

I just bought a book which was much lower price that hard copy and it bookmarks, and does all kinds of things. And of course I can adjust font size, which if you know anything about it, everything is not in large print and it costs more.

Has anyone else tried it?

I just checked it out.. .That is pretty cool. Does it allow you to turn your netbook sideways like a book?

#1 - How come? Netbook is expensive than Kindle or Sony unless you got netbook from Purple P3. One thing, nice to have Sony for check

#2 - Kindle and Sony eBook do offer color. I rather to use my laptop which is larger screen better than Sony or Kindle ebook. We will forward to see Apple will release new iTablet.

I do not know this is real or fake. Just rumor. That's kind like "Giant iPhone"

#3 - sometime, I download e-Magazine. I rather to use my regular computer because of color from e-magazine.

At my job: Most time, I make ebook or e-drafting or e-yearbook or e-Invoice and anything stuffs for our customers. They think I am master on Adobe Acrobat program. I did not take lesson or training. Just selftaught that I picked something new from someone has very limited skill, forum, read book, etc...

To answer your question the netbook was given to me as a gift. I think the Kindle and Sony would still be more.
 
I am hoping to get a cheap(ish) tablet netbook, Acer do one but it's a bit pricey at the moment. Best of both worlds :) At the moment my Touch HD does ebooks just fine.

Neat. This is all new to me that I could have it. I am very excited about this technology.

disadvantage that iPhone would drain too fast. That's why the actual eBook last longer. The more hours to read than iPhone with backlite.

eInk is amazing that you don't need backlight in low light level area. You still able to read like if it's paper with texture to read. Even you can read it outside without have glare problem unlike laptop. It's also less affect on your eyeballs.

I never like ebook in iPhone or smartphone. Tired of zoom then too much scroll down/up and left/right.

Sony Ebook does not have backlight. That's reason to prevent drain battery's life.

I am not familiar with eInk. Let me look at Wikipedia

Are you kidding? You should go to borders and you will find e-book at there. I played it around from last year and it's pretty neat and better than any LCD and perfect for outside during sun and easy to read without problem.

This is almost same idea like digital watch and easy to read like e-ink.

Good Point. I worn LCD Digital watch for short time then I never like digital watch. The digital watch is excellent in low light but......

I remember that I can't see what time when I am total dark room then push little button to make backlight.

I guess that you forget that digital watch does have little buttom to push for little lamp to see what time at dark place.

Few times, I played with Sony eBook at CompUSA and B & N book store. I do not really like Sony's size of screen. We hope Apple will new iTablet or other model (with built-in Internet brownse, WiFi).

Perfect! You get the idea. You will have trouble to see e-ink in the dark.
 
Botti, I have heard of it but I want to know more about it. I want to know if I could copy an ebook to a DVD so I don't lose it. Can I do that???

I am so far from expert, I can't answer.

I first put it on my netbook, and it looked like I had to be hooked up to internet to use it.

Then I put it on my laptop and unhooked my ethernet cable and the pages turned fine.

That is far as I have gotten, so I hope someone with a lot more knowledge than I have will answer your question.

why would people read book in dark place? No matter what.. no matter if e-book has backlight - you should never read it in dark place. It'll strain your eyes.

I woke up at mid-night. Still can't sleep then I picked remote to click HDTV power on. She woke up then very very angry at me. I told her that LCD HDTV is less bright better than old fashion tradition tube TV.

Most time, I use my latop which is less bright at mid-night.

If, I grab ebook without backlite then I can't use it in total dark!!

In my mind, I wonder..... many times, I drove at very late night for 30 years. Does it strain my eyes from signs?
