Have you drank magnesium citrate before? It is laxative that clean all bowel out to relieve the constipation or preparation for procedures.

I have drink today because required by doctor due constipation and already drank all of them in several min ago but taste so nasty.

Yes I have had that before and what a horrible drink! Eww!

The doctor told me to sip it slowly and ugh... I drank mine too fast, I threw up.

Ewwww! Aren't there other ways to remedy constipation? That sounds like over kill.

HAHA! I agree, Sally, it's an overkill....I take an overnight laxative and get down to business the next morning after I've had coffee.

It usually is overkill, but this is for a procedure that he has to have. They need to clean out the large intestine, and taking an oral bowel preparation is the easiest way to do that.

Btw, I agree. Magnesium citrate is awful, awful stuff!

If all else fails, just wait til you feast your eyes on a jumbo sized enema. :run:

I understood Foxtrac to say that he was taking it for constipation and not a procedure. Maybe I misunderstood? Definitely easier ways to relieve constipation alone. Magnesium citrate and enemas are the "big guns."

Back, it is really harmless than I was expected but it gave me a stomach pain and it does work so superior to milk of magnesia, after I waked up and my stomach start sounds like bomb so I ran to bathroom, that seems not similar experience with before when took at 10 years old.

Yup, I took for constipation because my doctor said I'm required to drink, if not treated so would face nasty stomach cramp and probably require ER, also I will have take Miralax tonight with warm apple juice.

Ahh, my bad.

Well, I know its used for procedures, but for constipation there are milder things to take.

Miralax is one such product. Hope it helps, Jamie.

Best thing to prevent it... is drink plenty of water and eat a high fiber diet...

I tried but it won't prevent, however it probably work on some people. :(

I'm just wait and see about how constipation would take longer, it seems like probably have IBS if constipation is still issue in more than 3 month.

Have high fiber diet has gave me alot of frequently toilet so I just reduced to balanced than be valued at 100% or 25 gram daily.

MD I worked for in the past said fiber powder daily with LOTS of water. I am not a Dr, so ask your Dr first. He was a very well known gastroenterologist. We called him GI Joe. Hehehe

Magnesium in the form of MoM, Magnesium Citrate or Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salts) is very effective. Nasty, nasty, vile tasting stuff.

Sorry that you arent feeling very well. Hope that you feel much better soon.
