Hello all, I am new to alldeaf.com. Culturally I was raised hearing, but I am 100% biologically deaf. I was raised to speak and read lips, but have been learning and gravitating to use of sign since the age of 19. Unfortunately I don't really have any deaf family or friends with which to use sign so I am not as fluent as I'd like to be. I do OK conversationally with PSE but ASL word order trips me up, I need practice!

I currently live in Newcastle, OK. I am seriously considering moving to the Fort Collins, Colorado area and I was wondering if there is a strong deaf community there? One that may be willing to accept me. I would really like to have a deaf social circle, it's just easier all around for me. I was also wondering, of those who live or have lived in that area, are there decent services for the deaf if necessary? Interpreters, programs, captioned movie theaters, etc?

Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for that link!

I'm 30, and I don't drink a lot, but when I do the only beer I drink is Guinness. ;)

We'll change that.

Colorado = known for their beer :) (Fort Collins has Coopersmiths, New Belgium, and Odells to list a few)

I know a lot of people in the area, so, if you want to hear more about events - let me know.
