Whether they're movies or TV shows, we've watched them yearly ever since we were young. What are some of your favourite holiday specials?

My favourite Christmas special by far has always been Miracle on 34th Street (1994).

Also, I took the liberty of finding some lists for our American ADers of some of their favourite Christmas specials with the times, dates and stations they are playing.

Also, I found this one for us Canadians when looking for my favourites online today:

Your complete guide to the season's TV specials - *TV - MSN CA

I own a good number of them on DVD and Blu-ray. I recently acquired both versions of Miracle on 34th Street on Blu-ray. Quite nice, I have to say.

I also own some of the classic Television specials such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and its sequel, The Drummer Boy, Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Charlie Brown Christmas  I forgot to add, It's a Wonderful Life.

I bought Miracle on 34th Street on DVD as well. Great movie.

Those are good choices! Must be nice to have them in your own collection!

I don't watch seasonal movies but I used to adore Nightmare before Christmas when I was a kiddo :P

... does that count? lol

Yes, I'll have to look at the database and see what is in my collection.I know for sure that I own It's a Wonderful Life on both DVD and Blu-ray. Let me tell you this, the movie looks phenomenal on Blu-ray. It never looked this good and I mean good. One of the best black and white video transfers I've come across on the Blu-ray format.

I also own some little-known movies like Beyond Christmas, which I have yet to watch. There's also the movie, One Magic Christmas. Not very well-known among us, probably due to its depressing theme in some parts.

Of course, I own The Grinch Who Stole Christmas on DVD. It came out on Blu-ray, but it's a bit pricey at the moment, so I'll have to hold out for a good deal. Same with Charlie Brown Christmas, but I've read the reviews and the clarity is said to be quite clear and sharp which is a good thing.

Oh, there's also the classics I have on both DVD and Blu-ray, like A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, Scrooged, A Muppet Christmas Carol, Gremlins and more. Heck, even Die Hard counts as a Christmas movie. Hee hee.

I should get 'Joyeux Noel' since I've heard so much about it.

Oh, yeah! I still watch A Charlie Brown Christmas every year. I just love it. And I like the cartoon version of the Grinch, too.:giggle: I'm just a big kid at heart when it comes to Christmas.

Definitely the movie MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET is a yearly must see :D Dunno why though LOL... oh and NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS :giggle: I love to sing along the songs and know the lyrics by heart!

Speaking of 'database' what kind of database?

I just remembered to watch A Christmas Story on tv. It was filmed in Cleveland Ohio.

May favorites are:

Frosty the Snowman, (have it)
Frosty Returns (have it)
Santa is Comin' To Town, (have it)
A Charlie Brown Christmas (have it)
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (don't have it)
A Christmas Story (have it)
The Santa Clause (have it in VHS format, need it in DVD/blu-ray format)
A Christmas Carol (will have it)
The Polar Express (looking for it)

Yup come next year I should have quite a Christmas DVD collection. Rentals are $20/night. Late fees are an additional $20 per day.
