54-Year-Old Charged With Improper Exhibit Of Firearm In Public

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. -- A woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Macclenny after police said she took her gun out and started to unload it at Walmart.

Patricia Perry, 54, was charged with disorderly intoxication and improper exhibit of a firearm in public.

Police said Perry went to the sporting goods department of Walmart where she took a .38 pistol out of her purse and began unloading the gun in front of the store clerk.

Deputies said Perry had a strong smell of alcohol, and that she later admitted to having a 12 ounce beer before going into the store.

I see two things....

1.) They say she had a beer, but no reports or mention of her BAC, so I have doubts she was drunk. Her breath may stank of alcohol, but that doesn't mean she was legally drunk.

2.) What was not illegal was she had a gun, she was unloading it. What's missing in this story is why.

The news reporter is obviously biased towards guns and decided to show how evil it is to have a gun along side of having had alcohol.

And purposely omitted reasons for her being there, no mention if she's a licensed carrier and cops are notorious of hating civilians of having firearms, even from a law abiding citizen who has a license to carry. They just don't care about that.

If someone unloads a gun at a store while I was there, I would have run out of the store. You just never know what people will do these days.

what's illegal is operating a firearm while intoxicated. same as DUI. shame on her. and no cops are not notorious for hating armed civilians. I can tell you plenty of stories about cops being ok with armed citizens.
