Sarcasm? Did you notice how I replied?

The subject was about forgiveness. You can provide help but unless you're that victim who were violated by that same person then other people are in no position to offer forgiveness for that perpetrator. There is a stark difference here.

And you are completely wrong in your perspective, most expecially when applied to a therapeutic situation.

 I do have him on ignore.

Just hoarding is a topic I am interested in...

And a very interesting topic it is. Quite the shame that we are unable to discuss it from an intellectual level as a result of one person's juvenile behavior.

A woman that lived in my building was Hoarding . she had 2 bedrooms that could not be walked in as there was so much crap in them ! She was also saving her shit! It was all over her bathroom walls! She would dump a real cheap
prefume all over her apartment to cover the smell of the shit! It was horrible! I did not know how bad it was in there until she moved out!
I would had called the health department if I knew what the place looked like!

The woman was obviously very ill. The health dept would have just evicted her and declared the place uninhabitable. Then there would have been a mentally ill woman forced to live on the streets. She needed the help of mental health professionals.

I bet they would have committed the woman because of what was described in her bathroom.

I wonder how come people did not report to the cop if they think its strange not to allow anyone in the house that she had been doing. That's so odd. obviously, she managed to get away from all of the laws. SHe must have know how law system are that she did not wish to be in the situation when she knows herself and her flaws so well or not. :dunno:

I dont know the whole thing.

You can refuse entry of the police, as long you answer the door. If you don't answer the door, they might go in.

More likely than not. To that degree, her problems could be considered to be a danger to herself.

I don't know exactly how it would apply to this story, but people are very reluctant to call police unless something like gunfire or other obvious behavior is going on. Most take the attitude "As long as she is quiet and not bothering anyone, just let it go." While there is much to be said for allowing others to be themselves, there is a line where that behavior becomes dangerous to the person. I think it is uncaring not to do something when it reaches that point.

If it is a requested welfare check, the police will be accompanied by a mental health professional or an employee of human services. If the mental health professional suspects a dangerous situation, the police can enter, even without permission.

Living? Statues? Frozen from the store? (I am getting kind of a strange picture of your mother.)

Oh, Gawd, please tell me they are statues!

Although growing up, we had a Ph.D. in Physics living down the street that we all called the "Chicken Lady" because she kept live chickens in her house, and could even be seen driving around town with a couple of them in her car. She wasn't considered mentally ill at that time, just "eccentric".:giggle:

 I think in England maybe she still would be. And that is half the charm of England.

:laugh2: She just likes to collect chicken figures. I even made her a tote bag with chickens on them.

Hoarding.... fascinating stuff I've read from your posts. I didn't know it is still a mystery to great minds. I used to be a hoarder. I hoarded magazines, old stuff, etc. because I don't like to throw away stuff if it's not broken or unusable. My mom hates the cluttering and throws away everything.

It pissed me off to no end cuz she wants to throw away my junks and she did throw out some. Later on after moving for several times.... I finally got over this hoarding phase. I'm a minimalist. I do keep some old stuff but only if I have a space for it. If not.... chuck'em or sell'em. It's quite liberating. :cool2:

That's sad. :( Her family brought her food home but I bet they now wish they helped clean as well. *sigh*
