It shows they put themselves above others. In the end it may turn out they were effective but I'd choose to not have the person in position of trust. Infedelity is an issue of trust. And yes, dishonesty does tend to carry over into other facets of life, enough so that the risk they ask me to take with them is not getting my vote.
There are enough people out there with real integrity that I don't feel the need to put others in office. All about risk. There are other choices. Those who risk losing office should lose it. I don't vote for someone so they can gamble with my vote. Simple as that.

That is your right as voter. Doesn't means one should demand termination or resignation. Come the next election, if voters think the person served the public well enough to leave scandals alone, they will. If the public thinks that the scandals are a reflection of the person's characteristics, they won't vote for him and he won't serve another term.

Simple as that.

I'm not one to demand resignation or termination...only because of the cost involved in special election and the fact that it throws a monkey wrench into proccesses in motion. Sometimes thier effectiveness really hits the skids.....like with the Illinois governo, Blagojevich.....which wasn't infedelity.... but still.....if infedelity causes ineffectiveness then out they go.....it does happen.
I'll stick to my story....I don't vote for someone so they can gamble with my vote. Insult. Principle....like I said there are other person's out there who can be effective....plenty.....no need to re-elect someone after they insult. Plenty fish in th e sea.
Infedelity often become an ongoing thing and often eventually turns into an ugly situation i.e. blackmailing....divorce...even murder......
once again...someone who puts themself before thier family and the other cheat players family and selfish enough to cause that kind of pain....nope, rat...out ya go. Wouldn'twanta selfish type leading.
Effectiveness is irrelevant...there are plenty others who can lead ...without the selfishness...and trust issue. Past effectiveness is no guarentee of future......trust lapse over into other parts of life. Why take a chance....it's more than a vote...it's taxpayer money to someone who broke trust and caused pain. kicked to the curb.
