When you use the word, "tribalism", can you please explain what that is and what does it do? How does it help resolve the issue?

Yiz

tribalism - just have your own group with same belief. you don't need to worry about what other people do but just people within your own group

Yeppa, it has.

Abortion is a very emotional issue, has been since 1973, plus 40 million dead babies and counting.

Of course, it's racking up dead bodies of adults on both sides of the spectrum regarding abortion, both pro-abort and anti-abort. Which is in itself sad too.

This whole thing won't end anytime soon, unfortunately.

Yiz

but this thread is not about an abortion debate. it's about a pro-lifer being brutally murdered. period. not baby. not fetus. none of that.

I stand corrected.

Tribalism-- when the decision is left to a small group of people. Usually a family, sometimes can take on a form of communism like a church. You know... as in: your wife and yourself-- and any children you two may adopt or bore is a "tribe."

The group I am affiliated with and my family doesn't believe in abortions. That is my tribe. I can choose to stay with them, or leave them.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.

Makes sense. :ty:

so what's your opinion about it? why not just worry about yourself and your group? why worry about 40+ millions babies?

I'll tell you what...for all of you who think you have the right and the duty to take away a woman's choice.....I've got an offer for you. Come to the ER with me and sit at the bedside of a 14 year old who has just been raped by her 19 year old step brother. You hold her hand while she sobbs through the forensic examination....because God know's we can believe what she is telling us without physical proof. You tell her it's going to be okay while they take pictures of her torn and bruised vagina, and while they take swabs looking for sperm. Then you comfort her while they clip her pubic hair, and search over every inch of her body looking for more DNA. You sit there with her while she is literally raped again. And then, after that, you go to her a month later and you say, "Guess what, sweetie! You are going to be a mommy! Isn't that wonderful news!"

Then you come to me and talk about choice.

Let me ask you this, is it possible to differentiate between caring about a human being while at the same time not have to agree with a particular issue, whatever it may be?

I can love a person, but don't have to like his or her smoking crack.

See the difference?

If I thought very little of women, then I wouldn't be married now, wouldn't I?

Our wedding

Our honeymoon, my wife wanted a teddy bear and we got one.

I love my wife like I love my life. We're inseparable. And despite of the fact she's gone through hell physically when she had a congestive heart failure, renal failure, respiratory arrest and a stroke last year on May 18th. I was there for her every single day of hell, holding her hand and hugging her and wiping away her tears.

She's home now and on a medical bed, she isn't the same as last year, but thank God she's still with me and I'm loving it when I take care of her every single day, giving her meds and tucking her in for the night.

Don't be presumptuous of me. I love life, my wife and every human being on this earth, both born and unborn. I never make light of anything.

I can love a human being, but I don't have to like the inhumanity of man or woman.

Totally off topic but here's my comment:

While I feel for you and admire your devotion to your wife, you have to understand that a lot of people are NOT like you. A lot of women are not like your wife. Different ideas, different experiences, different applications for their lives.

Like I said, you're letting your emotions cloud sound judgment.

Which is a more reliable source of information? Logic or emotion?

Answer that.

You up for the offer? Ready to face a huge dose of reality?

so do you think this 14 years old girl should get a baby, no matter what?

I realize that and understand.

Different folks have a different drummer. I get it.

And thanks for the kind comments regarding me and my wife.

It's not the fault of the mother that she got pregnant as a result of a crime.

It is also not the fault of the unborn child simply because the unborn child is a byproduct of a crime.

So the fault lies upon the one that committed the crime.

Yiz

by abolishing the abortion law, you want these different folks to have same drummer as yours. is that what you want?

yes the horrible crime has been committed but that didn't answer my question. do you think this 14 years old daughter should give birth - NO MATTER WHAT?

And the consequences are suffered by an innocent 14 year old child that is already living and breathing on this earth and has been made to suffer unimaginable pain and humiliation.

So you would punish her even more for something that is totally beyond her control.

Who said about punishing her? Was it her fault she got raped? NO!

Blame the perp that raped her, not the mother or the unborn child. They didn't do anything wrong.

The perp who raped her is the one that did the wrong, the perp should be made to suffer the consequences for what he has done.

Why punish the unborn child for being a byproduct of that rape?

If you think telling a 14 year old that she has just been inpregnated by her step brother as the result of rape and that she will have to carry that fetus to term and give birth to it isn't punishment, then you live in a fantasy world of rainbows and lollipops. The rest of us deal with stark reality on a daily basis.
