So this is how it goes... Basically this is a really long story in which people can add "patches" to the quilt. The story add-ons can be as long as you wish. Make them creative and funny, but keep them clean.

So maybe we can start with the basics...

Who should the main character be (name, personlity)?
Should there be other characters (names, personalities)?
What are the main character's flaws/eccentricities?
What is the problem that the main character faces?

Once these questions are answered, we can start the quilt! The next poster after me answers the first question, and then the second, third and fourth answers the last three questions. After that someone can start the story and then another poster continues it!

Giraffe would be my answer for the perfect name for our hapless hero.

Giraffe should be deaf... and he should be an elephant. :P

Anyone want to add other characters that we should use?

His audiologist, who is a mouse.

:giggle: And his imaginary friend... Walter the walrus. :P

As for character flaws and eccentricities: He has the hiccups constantly. Any others? :P

And then the problem he faces.

I've noticed how a lot of the "depressing threads" threads have been bumped up ahead of this one.

This thread was designed to get away from that mindset... this was created to be a non-depressing thread. :P That's why I decided to start it, so maybe instead of talking about all the depressing threads, come here. :P

PSSSTTTT: I know me and Botti aren't the only creative ones on AllDeaf! :)

It's true! Today Giraffe is having one of the depressing days, as he is scheduled for a visit to the audiologist.

And since Dr. Craven is a mouse this is bound to present some problems, as elephants traditionally fear mice.

Giraffe walked into Dr. Craven's office hiccupping away, accidentally making the doorway to the office significantly larger than it was made to be.

After having having a panic attack because his audiologist was a mouse, Giraffe calmed down. Dr. Craven then announced to Giraffe that he could not perform any tests because his obnoxiously loud hiccuping posed problems. Dr. Craven pointed out that Giraffe would have to search for a cure to these hiccups.

Next person...
