Hillary Loses Her Cool

This is interesting:
...Apparently the translator made a mistake and the student had wanted to know what President Obama thought of the deal. A State Department official tells ABC News the student went up to Clinton after the event and told her he was misquoted. No immediate word yet how Clinton responded.

Regardless of the error, the notion of Secretary Clinton's deference to her husband clearly touched a nerve with America's top diplomat. Just a week ago the former President stole his wife's thunder when he appeared in North Korea to rescue two American journalists detained there. His trip came just as Secretary Clinton embarked on a swing through Africa she hoped would shine light on the plight of the continent.

Still, imagine what the students thought when her response was translated back and they heard Clinton call President Obama her husband….
Lost in Translation: Clinton Says She, Not Bill, is the Secretary of State - Political Punch

It's too bad people aren't as forgiving when it comes to Palin or other conservative women.

Palin supported a lot of things that interfere with people's personal lives. That I do not accept.

Not at all, Shel. She is human, yes, but there is a way to answer questions and she blew that one. She could have used a heck of a lot more tact there, and she didn't. She just ended up looking like a bully. When you are dealing with other countries that look down upon women, you need to know how to respond to certain things that don't make you look too aggressive.

She blew this one, I'm afraid.

Like I said, she made a mistake.

Clinton's blowup came in the course of a grueling seven-nation, 11-day trek across Africa to press causes she has championed on battling AIDS, corruption and the oppression of women.

This is the reason I said she is not perfect and is human. Sometimes there is so much one can endure and when one is very very exhausted, mistakes are bound to happen. Maybe she shouldnt have put herself thru this grueling trek but as any human being, if one pushes oneself too far, it would be easy to lose cool. She made a mistake...what can we do..shoot her? Hope she will learn from it.

Unfortunately true... Liberals hate me. Oh, I'm sure they won't forgive me, anyway. :P

AS for this thread ... It is kinda of bummer to see Hilary lost her cool... I hope she will be more careful next time. I personally think she is a cool lady. :)

Or maybe she just isn't suited for the job? All Secretaries of State have grueling schedules and travels. If they aren't physically or mentally up to it, then they should get another job that they can handle.

We can't risk a Secretary who might lose her cool at the most critical time in international negotiations.

international negotiation..... like releasing 2 Koreans from North Korea. or negotiating for release of American hostages held by Somali pirates. or aiming for peace in Palestine-Israel tension. and so many more that can easily be sparkled into a bloody war over one meeting.

Perhaps Chelsea should take over..... or Slick Willy

I heard on the nres the student asking question went up to Hillary and told the question was meant to be about Obama and not Bill! Someone mess that question up and it made Hillary look like a Hot Head! She has to be really tried from all that traveling too , she is not a young woman and does not seem to be in best of health as it like she put on weight.

apparently - people like her. that's why she was Alaska Governor and VP candidate :dunno:

yea but look at Madeline Albright. Perhaps she should call Madeline for some advice? Albright's job was much more grueling than Hillary and she handled it just fine.

She's not human? She doesn't make mistakes?

Let's put it this way, ok.

Women's roles in politics has never gotten easy and I don't think it will get easier since The Women's Suffrage.

The fact that some of us ladies are nitpicking over details aren't helping our ladies in government.

Personally, I don't think any women should get "breaks" if they want to enter politics.

Nor should they be attacked any more than their male counterparts.

We can't use the "only human mistakes" for some politicians and not for others. Therefore, we shouldn't use it for any of them.

Ouch! I'm harsh with politicians. :P

Just my opinion.

this happened to male politicians. Are you suggesting that we should overlook some incidents based on their gender and their monthly visitor? :hmm:

Good for those people. I dont like her views and that's why I criticize her but not for any mistakes she has made. I dont know how she got into the picture. If one wants to nitpick, feel free to nitpick Hillary. I am just stating my opinion and that she did make a mistake. Want me to shoot her as well?

me either. Palin scares me and she even makes my own baby cry! and she/he's not even procreated yet! I criticize Hillary just as much as I criticize Palin, Bush, Obama, Clinton, and anybody in politic.

I don't think this is not nitpicking. Nitpicking implies a trivial detail being overblown (unlike Republicans old farts). I don't think Hillary blowing up at a Congolese boy in worldwide live tv show is a trivial matter. Perhaps it's a psychological or neurological symptom she's developing? :hmm:

btw - no I don't want you to shoot her. We all don't want you in jail for life :grouphug:

Not sure I understand your comment.
If Hillary and Palin are each human and each make mistakes, then those mistakes can be equally forgiven, right? It doesn't matter if one is Democrat and one is Republican.
