Hi, I have just talked to the Sorenson technian support about on the next VP-300 videophone to please install a small flasher for when I call somebody who is Deaf like myself ( videophone to videophone ) that there will be a flash each time the phone rings because I am not sure how many rings there are when I call friends on vp also I have noticed this too when a friend calls me then I notice the tty flasher from Radio Shack has been ringing/flashing for a very long time ( I could be in the bathroom or the kitchen etc. ) then just as I am about to hit the remote then a friend of mine has already hanged up then I have to call that person back to be able to chat. I also asked about seeing if Sorenson can have Deaf people leave a signmail video clip on another Deaf person's vp like what they do right now with hearing callers leaving signmail answering machine messages. I also have noticed that people have been calling me at 3:00 a.m. I will not name names but this really needs to stop because I work in the daytime. I do make an effort to return your calls before I go to work but if not then I will return your calls after work. I also have not gotten my computer back from the shop yet so that may have added to the stress of people trying to call me at all hours which is very understandable but please lay off of the vp. I had to snap at several people today and I even got snapped back at so I really think it would help alots to have a ringer flasher when calling another Deaf person on vp and really cut down on the aumont of back and forth of Deaf people snapping at each other so please be considerate of anothers. I tried calling some people at normal hours only to find that the only way I would be able to talk to somebody is at midnight or 3 a.m. I really can't do that anymore and if you want to talk to me, I don't mind and I am more than happy to chat with you. Just please chat with me during the daytime, the same goes for on the weekends, talk in the daytime during the weekends too. This will be strictly enforced because I can not lose sleep and not be at my best at work. I have a question, Will you take care of me if I lost my job due to lack of sleep ? No way you wouldn't. See, even some things got to come first. Okay ?

last week, i email to sorenson to suggest to have an answer machine(deaf to deaf). seem almost simpler to yours. also, suggest if possible to have one phone number such as #800 instead have two number for hearing to call deaf vp. several vrs already have these features...let see how will they do or not in future? i like the idea to have the count on rings but, one problem is there is no way to know if there is busy line or not. it doesn't say on prompt(vp-200).

True, I just thought maybe a digital ringer on-screen will let know how many rings you know 1, 2, 3 that would be really good especially with a busy signal too.

VP Answering Machine

Hi, I have just talked to the Sorenson technian support about on the next VP-300 videophone to please install a small flasher for when I call somebody who is Deaf like myself ( videophone to videophone )
The VP–200 already has LightRing, which flashes for both VRS and Point–to–Point (Deaf–to–Deaf) calls. Also, if your friend is in your address book, you can assign different flashes for different friends.
I also asked about seeing if Sorenson can have Deaf people leave a signmail video clip on another Deaf person's vp like what they do right now with hearing callers leaving signmail answering machine messages.
last week, i email to sorenson to suggest to have an answer machine(deaf to deaf).
The FCC allows Sorenson VRS to collect money for the cost of SignMail, because the communication is relayed from the voice user to the SignMail user. There is no reimbuirsement of cost for point-to-pont calls, because that is not a relay call, so this is not something that Sorenson VRS would offer, because they would not get paid for it.

You can buy a videophone answering machine.

DEAFWORKS · Individual Products: VP++, a Videophone Answering Machine Controller unit

You can set the times to not call on deafVP.com and put your VP in DND (Do Not Disturb) mode, when you do not want it to ring. You will still see "missed call" if the the person called you, when you were not awake or available.
also, suggest if possible to have one phone number such as #800 instead have two number for hearing to call deaf vp.
You can get an IP-Name and use another VRS provider, such as CSD/Sprint or Hamilton for your personal toll-free number.
there is no way to know if there is busy line or not. it doesn't say on prompt(vp-200).
When you call a person's videophone, if they are busy, a popup will come up on the screen showing the person is busy. The VP–100 or VP–200 of your friend will show "missed call" and your number.

I imagine Sorenson listens to their customers and does their best to implement the best ideas. I imagine we'll see lots of good things to come from Sorenson.

oh, I have idea for you, Sorenson... hologram like Star Wars. So we can talk in 3D - awesome!

I have a suggestion for Sorenson. Return the interpreters back to the deaf community. They need them for classes, hospitals, doctors, lawyers, courtrooms, and theme parks.

supply=demand

I have a suggestion for Sorenson. Return the interpreters back to the deaf community.

Sorenson, and every other VRS provider, is simply responding to demand. If you want the interpreters to return to their old jobs, you will need to convince a lot of deaf friends to give up their VP and VRS.

Is there a reason for bringing up a 11-month-old thread? I'm just curious...

To tell you the truth, there is no such thing as VP-300. It hasn't announced yet about it. If you hear about this, it was just a rumor. There is no proof that VP-300 will be out at all.

I had talked with Sorenson Trainer about it at Canton OH deaf picnic event last Saturday. Yes, but he don't know what s feature and when will it be available.

I already send email to sorenson for a suggestion that it need to upgrade firmware that allow VP-200 to enable 16:9, since idiot people are use their VP on widescreen display that cause the 4:3 into stretch to widescreen. Sheesh. However, it would be much help :)

Actually most wide TV offers option switch to 4:3 ratio. I have set my wide screen TV as 4:3 and perfect for VP. Your right, if using VP on 16:9, you would see yourself like a family guy cartoon, yuck!

I know, it just there are certainly people who don't like to have black bar on both side. So they set to fill the screen.
