A British man had to be rushed to a hospital emergency room after attempting to circumcise himself with nail clippers, the Telegraph reported Tuesday.

The unnamed young man was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, where he had the wound cleaned and disinfected.

He was kept in the hospital for observation.

"This is something we would advise men never to attempt," a medic told the Telegraph. "The results can be quite horrific and long-lasting and have quite an affect on a man's sexual performance. Using a pair of nail clippers must have caused excruciating pain, even if he had had a few drinks beforehand."

It never ceases to amaze me that I can still be amazed by the stuff people do.

He must've been desperate to get circumcised in order to do that to himself! I wonder what made him want to be circumcised.

I remember hearing about WWII. Men would try to stretch their skin to make their penis look like it was not circumcised. due to that is one of the ways the Germans would check to see if you were Jewish or not.

but to see someone to cut it off.. I do wonder what his reasoning was for that?

It was sad. It was a documentary I watched, long ago. The young man actually pretended he was a German. He painfully stretched his skin and tied it off on the end of his penis with a thread, to make it look like he had a foreskin. To prevent getting caught, and from being thrown into concentration camp.

Very sad indeed.

What he did to himself wasnt stupid..it was for his survival and I applaud him for it.

he should have gone to doctor to get it circumise instead of doing it on himself, that's worst and infection.

maybe he doesn't like that smelled like cheesy. UGH!

Wow, that's an interesting statement, the first time I've been informed of this. That was pretty "smart" of the Germans in a way to be able to instantly tell since not many people then could circumcise on-the-fly nor could they really do that today.

That's clever.
