how much of those profits are shared with the people of the country?

:dunno: we certainly ain't getting a piece of it. Beside - simply look at oil-riched nations in Middle East. They are thriving and stable. I hope Iraq will follow the same path and be a beautiful country once again.

Thriving and stable economies...all without democracy.:cool2:

but are all of those oil profits controlled by a small percent of the populations?

the rich can pave their driveways with gold to park platinum limos, while the rest of the population lives in squallar poverty

An election isn't the only criteria for a democracy.:cool2:

nope it's not. You'll find what are the other criteria in this thread or other Iran threads :cool2:

I know what the criteria are. And Kuwait is not a democracy. So your post simply supports my post. Thriving and stable...all without democracy.

You might want to double-check on that. Guess why Kuwait is also thriving. :cool2:

(hint hint - American intervention)

Check on what? That Kuwait is not a democracy? I've already provided you a link.

my post had nothing to do with democracy. only that Kuwait would be undeer Saddam's dictatorship.

Instead, they are a constitutional monarchy, as they have been for centuries.

Centuries? Kuwait has been there since 1961 under constitutional monarchy.

It used to be ruled under UK in past.

and slowly adopting to the form of democracy (voting) and "American Dream". Ever notice the remarkable transformation of Middle East such as skyscrapers?

Please support the claim that Kuwait is adopting American Democracy. They are under the same form of government that they have been for centuries: constitutional monarchy. There is no historical evidence that they are adopting American Democracy. Skyscrapers have absolutely nothing to do with the ruling government.

skyscrapers are not related to political status but of growing modern American idealism.

here's a link for you. that is precisely why I said "you might want to double-check on that" :cool2:

do you know what constitutional monarchy? It's not the same as absolute monarchy like Kuwait's neighbors. As far as I'm concerned, UK is constitutional monarchy as well.... along with democracy... where there are free speech, human rights, and free election :cool2:
