Deaf and dumb girl gangraped in Uttar Pradesh :: Samay Live
A 16-year-old deaf and dumb girl was abducted and allegedly raped by three men in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district, police said Tuesday.
One of the accused Vimal, who confessed to the crime committed by him and two of his friends, has been arrested, police inspector Parshuram Singh told news agency.
The incident took place in Sudnapur village in Sultanpur district, about 150 km from Lucknow.
According to the police officer, the victim was returning home from the fields when Vimal, who lives in her neighbourhood, and his two friends Monday abducted her. They took the girl to a secluded place and committed the crime, Singh said.
The girl was found lying in an unconscious state in Gosainganj locality in the village and was taken to a hospital.
"Medical report confirmed the rape. Condition of the victim, who is undergoing treatment in the district hospital, is critical," said Singh.
The victim's parents Monday registered a case against Vimal suspecting him to be behind the crime. The parents said Vimal had tried to lure their daughter on several occasions earlier.
