i'm confused. how can they determine the rise if you stated that the exact numbers are not available for time when assault weapons were banned?

I want an assault weapon in my home. And if someone attempts to break in my house, I will not hesitate to use it.
If someone attempts to harm my family or me, I will not hesitate to use it.
If someone eats my last Oreo in the cupboard...

you know - I just had a thought. One can argue that since after the ban expired, the people finally have the means of self-defense.... thus resulting in increase of gun-related deaths. I suppose that during ban, the knife deaths were high... and the rape/assault crimes were high![]()

well since you said the exact numbers are not available in your post #179.... then I cannot find it. However - it's probably a very logical correlation.
