It is 199 dollars at Best Buy and gosh, it is worth it.

"It’s a little late to be announcing anything, since the things are already at Best Buy, but I guess Flip had better at least acknowledge that the Flip UltraHD and SD exist. We guessed that it was 720p and had 8GB of built-in storage when we saw the leaked pictures, and that’s pretty much what the news is. The price is lower than we expected, though, so that’s good news for all you on-a-budget video lovers out there.

The new UltraHD is thicker than the MinoHD, but has twice the storage and a larger screen (2″ vs 1.5″). It also can take two AA’s or a rechargeable pack, and will recharge via the flip-out USB connector. Other than that and the slightly , things are pretty much business as usual. The UltraSD will record to standard definition, obviously, and the battery will last longer — but do you really need 5 hours versus 3 when it’s so easy to recharge? Anyway, the SD goes for $150 and the HD for $200.

If you’re in the market, remember that there are competitors, in the form of every digital camera sold since last year (they all shoot 720p now) and also with similar devices like Kodak’s Zx1 (weather resistant) and Sony’s Webbie. Personally I’d go with the Zx1 because its weather sealing makes it more hardy — but the built-in USB thing in the Flips is awful handy. Best to go somewhere and try them both for yourself. Video quality on either one will be passable."

Buy it!

and haha about sex part.

I think that Sony MHS-PM1 Webbie HD is better than Flip Ultra HD. Use both video and photo, captures video at 720p and 1080p "HD" resolution, memory-card expansion slot.

See more CNET review.

Sony Webbie HD MHS-PM1 (silver) Digital Camcorder reviews - CNET Reviews

SONY WEBBIE -

The good: Attractive design; captures video at 720p and 1080p "HD" resolution; memory-card expansion slot; swiveling lens; component video cables; rechargeable lithium ion battery.

The bad: Price doesn't include an optional memory card (onboard memory is limited to 12MB for capturing video); rechargeable battery doesn't recharge via USB connector; no integrated USB connector; no protective carrying case included.

The bottom line: The MHS-PM1 Webbie HD represents a step forward for Sony in the minicamcorder arena--but some quirks and only OK video quality prevent it from being compelling enough to best the competition.

FLIP ULTRA HD:

The good: Shoots 720p HD video; high-quality video for its class; easy to use; uses rechargeable AA batteries; FlipShare software compatible with both Mac and Windows machines.

The bad: Somewhat pricey; no memory card slot; no cable included for HD output to HDTVs.

The bottom line: The Flip Video UltraHD may not be the sexiest mini camcorder out there, but it offers a respectable feature set and some of the best video we've seen from this type of cheap, YouTube-friendly camcorder.

Very nice!

Flip Ultra is better.

My Canon camera can do video same  But it's kinda same what is shown on Safeway. What sucks is battery don't last long, 2 alkaline batteries last 15 min average. I haven't tried Lithium batteries yet.

Let me guess you own Canon with Powershot A model? I know it's low price but it really waste of money for over years with spend the new battery.

Canon with Powershot S,SD, G, and EOS model are much better. The SD and S are only $20-$80 more than A. Also they come with battery charger. They dont need buy new battery for many years. I still have 7 years old Li-on (Lithium-ion) for EOS 20D and still work great. My brother still have 9 years old of battery (Lithium-ion) for his powershot SD.

Canon with A and SX are poor efficient.

BTW Powershot with SD, S, and G are more than 1 hour for video mode.

@thechaostheory,

nice videos ( make me a drooling) Anyway I wonder that if flip hd have automatic focus len when close up ?

Thanks,
dg

nice video! I've been considering whether or not to get VholdR Contour HD (HD Helmet Camera - ContourHD by VholdR) $279 which can be attached to helmet/goggle/mount to record your sport activity, driving, etc. The video quality is really nice as well.

:hmm:

also new video here!
