The Wizard of Oz on NBC??

They're plan to make The Wizard of Oz from movie into TV series. Like concept as Friday Night Light.

It seem to be set as modern in New York and make weird thing like if there is door to the wonderland anytime you want.

It has to be lack of fresh ideas in "HollyWood"... You can only remake something so many times...

I would hate to hear... "Stay tuned for scenes from our show... as Dorothy and the Tin Man try to solve the mystery of the flying house~~ Toto gets involved the wrong crowd when a band of flying monkeys comes to town..."

It's not a remake of the beloved classic, The Wizard of Oz. There has been quite a few adaptations based on the works of L. Frank Baum. He wrote around 14 novels on Land of Oz. However, there has been many official additions to the novel series since his death. Plus there has been several revisions and different takes on the classic tale. For instance, the incredibly popular play, Wicked.

Wizard of Oz is a popular choice for the authors to play around with.
