Ever gone hungry?

Thanks.

I love Florida still. Don't want to move!

Beats the hell of the cold weather!

It's also darn cold here tonight

you're welcome. :)

off-topic...

how do you deal with the humidity? if i had to pick between living in a humid climate vs. living in a very cold climate as i do now, i'd prefer to stay here. as the old saying goes, "to each their own."

me too! i can't stand hot and humid climate. I dislike hot weather as well but funny thing is... I do enjoy tropical weather.... only when I'm vacationing.

i *love* hot weather (hence the reason why i'm moving to arizona this summer), but hate the humidity. as they say down in arizona, "it's a dry heat." :giggle:

by the way babyblue, how cold is "cold" down in florida? are you talking about overnight temperatures being in the 30s and daytime temperatures being in the 70s or 80s?

30s!?!? in florida? that's nearly unheard of!!! I think the coldest they ever gotten is.... 55-60s!!! :laugh2: At least that's what it was for me when I was in Florida a month ago.

i thought i remember a floridian here on ad saying that temperatures were in the 30s one night, but i could be wrong. :dunno: then again, i do know that temperatures can get down into the 40s in the panhandle.

I'm sure it's has happened before but rarely. I dunno because it's like saying it snowed in Arizona once last year. :laugh2:

wake up Floridian AD'er! help us shed a light in this!

It's sad to read your post over your experience with hungry... :(

Yes I had my share of childhood experience, too. My siblings, Miska the mongrol dog and I were hungry for several times... no foods for one day, one day after that my siblings and I went neighbors & stores to beg for foods. We have no money for bus ride to Grandparents so we walked for 2 hours to their house. We don't care how long journey we walked because we were hungry.

My mother is an alocholic and spend money on drinking to neglect the foods for us. No foods in fridge and no even bread... no even milk or juice because mother said that milk and juice are expensive. If we are thirsty then drink water from tap. My mother bought bread to toast and canned baked bean or tomatoes for us to be survive a day. She cannot afford to get dog foods for Miska so we shared our foods to Miska...

My mother got money from Social Assistance every Monday and then bought the "proper" foods, she cooked for us and then went to alochol store straight way.... until the foods running out one to two days before Monday at most time.

Can you image how happy I was when school holiday was over then I went boarding school and have proper foods and drink there... It's also the same with my siblings as well, they got free school voucher for lunch at school... During school holiday was definieity sucker because we expected that we are hungry sometimes.

P.S. I still eat canned tomatoes on the toast sometimes or without toast like "soup" because it's my childhood habit for like the taste... My hubby & boys were like :eek3: and can't image that I ate like that a lot during childhood time.

Being in the 30s with freeze warnings and patchy frost. At night for the next 6 days. And the highs in the upper 50s or lower 60s during the day.

Brr too cold for my Florida butt!

Humidity does not bother me. I'm used to it born and raised in Florida.

Even when I was poor back when I first left my ex. I would make do with out all other items. Food for my kids are my first priority. I was on foodstamps for about 6 months to help me get on my feet.

There is so many charities and food banks to help people in need. No one should have to go hungry.

It snows in AZ every year

Nope, never had to go "hungry" due to lack of food or a protest. I have gone hungry when i was stuck someplace and had no access to food but never more than a day. I have been blessed and I am thankful for it.

Lets get back on topic please. If you want to talk about weather, start another thread please. :ty:
