I know of a person that has Unilateral Microtia. He had his ear reconstructed as well. He is deaf in that ear due to the whole ear is fused inside.

That is very unusual. I wonder how often a birth defect like that would occur?

I've seen person with neurofibromatosis that look like "elephant man" sydrome. He was an owner of Alameda Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, MO. He was a rich man but technology wasn't available for his face reconstruction back in 1980's

My brothers Special Needs teacher had a mild form of it.
