Lol, okayyyyy. Hmmm, I googled and found that Kirk Kickorian is the largest individual shareholder, dunno how many percent yet. State Street Corp. owns the biggest stake in GM, with 15.4 percent of its shares outstanding. They added 400,000 shares last quarter.

Still guessing here since I cannot find mention of any oil companies being shareholders...Mobile?

That's why I said one of shareholders. Ok fine - Dubai investors. :cool2:

Hmm, I'm not quite sure how to incorporate my thoughts in this.

Bailout may seem like an "easy" way out of this fiasco but then, on the other hand, a bailout may be needed since the automobile corporations is what keeps this economy going.

The question is - If Bankruptcy was taken up on it's par, I think that would severely affect everything else. How would that be taken up in light to this?

When he and his family were at the White House the other day, he strongly encouraged the bailout with the PROVISO that the Big Three make significant increases in the gas mileage factor.

Hope he will make the gas mileage improvement into law, no matter if gas prices go down or up. Gas mileage=less pollution.

Yup, that's reason about support bailout and economy is main concern.

In my opinion, Bankruptcy is worse than bailout with strict regulation.

In 8 years ago, SUV and big pick-up are supposed to tighten on emission standard but only problem, Bush and many republicans, including in EPA had blocked it and we have no choice to fight with them, I was expected about Al Gore will win but damn to state of FL, it has been done and oil companies are partly to be blamed for block the support tighten on emission standard.

It could have same size SUV with good mpg if emission standard is tighten.
