We had nothing to lose, so we aren't sobbing. We just feel sad for our country.

And what a pity that is considering Americans made history by electing the first African-American President ever. If Conservatives can't be proud of that accomplishment, what *can* they be proud of?

By the way, a majority of Conservatives supported Obama, so it looks like you're in the minority when it comes to feeling sad for your country. Who you should *really* feel sad for is your party. After all, it's the GOP who has turned their backs against their constituents.

That's bad news. It's very difficult for people not to see what is GOING TO HAPPEN in our country and, even thou it may LOOK SO GOOD to you and Obama supporters. You have no idea what IS goin' to happen and, yet you can say anythin' you want by sayin' that it will NOT happen. Don't get hurt yourself later when your eyes see/hear somethin'. You know that's like when someone ask you if, you could stand on the stage and give the speech to many,many people in front of you and you will probably feel a little awkward or somethin' UNTIL you get use to it by givin' speeches many times ( warm up and ready ). Obama did announce that he was "President-elect" and won't be the President until January 20, 2009 and that we already have a President that is taking care of this country.

I understood where he was coming from as he didn't want to start shouldering the economic mess of this administration quite yet....

Yes, I understand that Obama is currently the President-elect, but I don't understand Maria's reasoning for putting that term in quotations.

As for your last sentence, Obama has *alot* to think about, so it will obviously take some time for him to come up with a good plan to solve our economic woes. As has also been mentioned, it could take a year; it could take considerably more, but at least Obama is headed in the right direction when it comes to addressing our economic concerns.

The reason that the Constitution writers included freedom of religion was because religion and government had always been mixed together in the past, especially in England and continental Europe.

Of course we have freedom of religions, but for the government, I don't think it will work because the government can't really follow the religions or every one of them.

If you would have read my posts more closely, you would have understood that I don't take stock in blogs. As I've said ad nauseum, bloggers have their own agenda (both liberal and conservative), so I could care less what they have to say.

As I've also mentioned before, you really should explore other options for your news. Unlike you, I don't get my news from biased sources. I get my news from *objective* websites which allow me to make informed decisions about the issues. I highly recommend you do the same.
