I am loaded down all weekend with two weeks worth of homework to get caught up on and I am frying what is left of my brain cells on algebra. more linear equations to be exact.
The one I am currently stumped on is this: (it is a linear equation system ICK ICK ICK)
3x-4y=-22
-3x+y=0
I am supposed to find the x,y intercepts by substitution.
the farthest I got was:
y=0-(-3x)
so I subbed that for y in the other equation:
-3x+y=0
-3x-4(0-(-3x))=-22
-3x-0-12x=-22
-15x-0=-22
-0 -0
-15x=-22
-15x/-15=-22/-15
x=1.4
Something tells me I did this incorrectly somehow because its not making sense as in the x value should be a whole number.
The direct instructions from the book are the following:
Sove each system by substitution. If the system is inconsistent or has dependent equations say so.

btw - long time no hear (errr.... read) in AD!
I solved it by typing it out in Notepad and confirmed it by finding the intersections of those two lines with my TI-86, which I used in high school and university.
