Just wanted to share

Cool!

I bet it was exciting especially from what you are saying. And you even got to shake his hand!

Jillio,

I can't see the picture, but think it was cool that you were able to see Obama speak in person -- and to shake his hand! My sister saw Obama earlier this year (she received tickets courtesy of her workplace) and she really enjoyed the experience.

Jillio, it must be cool seeing Obama in person giving his speech. Patin was in Jax downtown several days ago but didn't have my opportunity going to see her there somehow.

I cant believe u were that close up! I am happy for you and thanks for sharing it with us. :)

4 terps! AWESOME!!!!

That's cool you experienced something new today. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Looking more likely everyday that Obama will win.

That's awesome, Jillio.

I'm envious of you already! *grin*

Was Obama being composed as well?

Wow, that's pretty awesome you got up close to Obama. :)

Sounds awesome they provided 4 terps there.

Pretty cool.

In Iowa, we have these satellite voting places set up and people can already go cast their ballot. I think it is probably like absentee ballot.

Can people in other states go in and vote early too, I wonder?

Yes, I went to my town clerk's office to vote early yesterday. Wanted to get it out of the way and it makes it easier. Don't have to worry about long lines on election day, though I plan to call in sick that day anyway.

Great picture, Jillio! :)

Thanks! It was the best out of 10! I also posted a pic of me and some friends after the rally in the Pics of You thread. To all of you who have been bugging me...now you have a real life pic of me!

I wish he'd come to Vermont. We have plenty of small towns for him to visit.

Some beautiful small towns in Vermont! If he gets within traveling distance, I'd reccommend making the trip to see him!

Great picture, jillio! Thanks for sharing with us. I wouldn't mind being at a rally. Lemme know if he is ever in my neck of swamps in FL!

Nice snapshot you took of Barack Obama, Jillo! :) Obama in that snapshot appeared older than he is on the TV screen.

I have receieved E-mail from a Deaf Ohian about interpreters being available at the Obama rallies even I don't live in Ohio. :)

Shel, I just read about McDonald's. OMG! I am so glad that you and Nathan are okay!

The rally was wonderful. As you can see from the pic, I was able to get up fairly close, and was actually able to squeeze my way up to shake his hand as he was leaving! Being 5' tall and weighing 100lbs. was an advantage this time!

He covered all points...from the economy to the war to health care to education. The education portion of his speech went over very well, given that this is a college town and there were several professors and students there. The financial aid officer from my university managed to get on the court house steps right behind him as he was speaking! (I was jealous!) He didn't really say anything new...just reinterated what he has been saying in debates and interviews...but that man is a wonderful orator. He really knows how to work a crowd, and it seems that he is talking to you directly. Good eye contact with the audience, and very relaxed and natural.

The scary thing was the sharp shooters on the roof behind us, and all the Secret Service guys milling through the crowd. Had to go through a metal detector to got into the street where the courthouse was, and if you had a cell phone or a camera it had to be turned on so they could make sure it was functioning and not some kind of explosive.

This was an experience I will remember and treasure all of my life. If any on you have the opportunity to see him, I would certainly encourage you to go.

BTW....there were 4 terps!

Holy moly - 4 terps! I would have been in heaven!

If he comes to AR I would probably try to go if I didnt have to go to work or go to clas. But knowing AR it would be hard to get in.

I wil say this though - Cheney has been known to duck hunt with his entourage of secret service men and vehicles near Scott, AR which is about 30 mins to an hour south of Little Rock.

Yeah, its my understanding that all of his rallies have terps. Isn't that wonderful?

I thought he looked a bit older, as well. Maybe the strain of the campaign is beginning to show!
