Spam??

Just don't share your personal information in an email unless it's for a job position.

You can also report that to fed ex if they have an e-mail specifically for sending them the spam e-mail.

Dont you love it when they say: Somebody is sending you package but doesnt know your name and address :P

You have a point there, it wouldn't be a spam if somebody know our name and address.

Indeed, Like everyone said on this thread - It's definitely a scam.

There are a lot of errors noted in the letter.

Let's break it down one by one -

Reasons:This is due to the fact that a friend of yours left a parcel containing a Bank Draft of $1,050,000.00 and A Letter for you.You are to act fast by providing the information requested below to enable us make the delivery ASAP.

A friend? Okay, If it was a friend, a friend certainly would have know your address and who would want to send that much money through a parcel service when a friend can simply transfer it to your bank account?

For your information, the VAT & Shipping charges as well as Insurance fees have been paid by your colleague before your package was registered.

Again, How would it be paid by the colleague (a friend) before the package was registered without an address? For one to do a shipping, they are required to have the address. No address, no delivery.

However, you will have to pay a sum of $265.70 to the FedEx Delivery Department being full payment for the Security Keeping Fee of the FedEx company as stated in our privacy terms & condition page.

Also be informed that your colleague wished to pay for the Security Keeping charges, but we do not accept such payment considering the facts that all items & packages that is registered with us having a time limitation and we cannot accept payment having known not when you will be picking up the package or even responding to us.

This is where the error begins. When one receives a package, we do not pay for the delivery. The sender is the one that pays for the shipping and handling.

Don't you find it funny when it is noted that a colleague wishes to pay for the charges but yet, they are not accepting it?

So, yep, All you have to do is read between the lines and to catch the meaning behind it. It's definitely a scam.

that's why I have about 6 different email addresses for different purpose. GMAIL has extremely effective spam filter.

Me, too!

Yep, Gmail is probably the most extreme spam filter I have seen. It's rather ideal for the email correspondence between friends, business associates, etc. It offers no folder to save, however... but it's a great email program to use.

Once you get the hang of Gmail's labels, you don't need folders =D
