Yeah. The only thing I disagree with is the idea of banning guns, which I don't think is right. I'm no champion for gun rights but I do believe that there should be stricter controls in place to keep criminals from getting their hands on guns.

Otherwise, I'm pretty much liberal.

My mom is in physical therapy for her wrist. She met a guy there who came back from iraq due to a hand blown off - - he is in p.t. to deal with that. He, a US soldier, told my mom that if we were not there fighting then sure as hell, "they" will come over here and start a war. He says, and I agree, MOST of us forgot 9/11 and what it really means.

Because of the above, I am confused now. I believe Obama will bring the troops back home but then is a war gonna start? I believe Mc cain will keep the troops there and war off our land. I am not sure what to believe anymore, all's I know is I don't want a war in America. Our ecomony? Well, yeah is sucks but there have been breaks given out this year, namely the stimulus checks and more recently congress voted on banks refinancing people approaching or in foreclosure w/ lower interest rate loans.
The gov't know's stuff we don't - - I have faith in America and the biggest deal to me is war, not economy, etc.

Why do people always pull out the 9/11 line whenever they talk about war? I believe half the country is full of insecure people who are naive enough to believe what the government tells them about terrorism. Would those folks come over here and start killing us? Let's keep in mind that we are fighting on two fronts and Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11 and it has been confirmed by many sources.

Where's Bin Laden? If we had caught Bin Laden, we would not be in Iraq.

I see the Iraq war as a huge mistake and proof that Americans are too quick to wage war when there needs to be more analysis, etc.

So, bring the troops home and focus on America first.

He knows Washington people and bunch of other politicians that can be instrumental to having his bills passed. He did good for a while back then - clamping down on political corruption especially with campaign fund - Campaign Finance Reform. Not sure why or how he went crazy recently.

And as for his plan.... who knows? we all don't know any of Presidential candidates' real plan for a while after elected.

Obama talks good but nothing to deliver. McCain gets mad and delivered. I'll give you a few list of McCain's proposals -

To Detroit's Dismay, McCain Proposes Rise in Fuel Standards
Should Gun Shows Be Outlawed? McCain bill does much more than impose background checks (something that anti-gunner/liberals would love)
McCain, Bush agree on torture ban

I'll have to look for list of bills that McCain passed when I get home tonight.

GOOD LUCK! Sure I'd love to change America but it doesn't works the way you think. I'd give him a chance if he can improve Illinois but he hasn't much so how can he change USA? Illinois Senator for only 2-3 years? way too early to be in this Presidential race :roll:

Not always leaders are eloquent and charismatic. Obama may be eloquent and charismatic but if he can't deliver... then he is no different from Bush.

Perhaps we should use some consistency in practice when we "hire" a president.

Older workers are replaced with cheaper, faster, and younger workers because of new technology/equipment - just like Hollywood people are replaced by younger, prettier celebrities. old news.

Washington is a brutal place and being the President doesn't really get you anywhere. When I said more experience and older.... it's because he's been in the game for a long time and knows enough people to gather supports to vote for bills. I don't know how Obama is going to get the job done with no solid support on his fence. but like I said - I'll keep a small hope for him and I do applaud for his audacity.

I'd have to agree with you. Bush seems like a regular jolly fellow but too bad he sucks as the President.

yike! you messed a bit with some HTML coding haha. Bush's eloquency? haha! But I guess Bush appeased to Americans because of his "Texan" image even though he is not a Texas native. Plain-spoken, non-elitist characteristics, tough attitude "my highway or the highway", etc.
