Hey, looky in here.....

BOO! Just kidding! I'm getting all giggly posting this thread.

Let me tell you a story about it.

When I planned a trip to the the tiny tourist town, I took Sweetheart with me and we flew to Europe and stopped by that little town of....Leavenworth in Germany....there's beautiful mountains, bavarian style buildings, great German food, German people, friendly tourists... We walked around in that small town on Saturday night for a while and looked at a few stores but most were closed and we ate at a restaurant called Gustav's. Sweetheart was getting puzzled that I was getting all weird and we had some yummy GOOD food they make at that restaurant, they got the freshest salads, best fish and chips and best sandwiches!!!!! We finished eating there and we went home.

The next morning, we woke up and saw how beautiful the town is with the backdrop of the snowcapped mountains and we took a bunch of pictures of me and Melanie on the 2nd floor of the hotel. We decided to walk to downtown Leavenworth to look at the cute gift shops and candy stores, bakeries, even there's a starbucks, too! After we were done looking at those stores, we took more pictures of the lovely little town and walked to the gazebo and Sweetheart was wondering that I have been acting weird and here goes the surprise for her.....I looked at her and kneeled down and said will you marry me? Sweetheart asked me why? I told her I love you so much and would love to be with you all my life and we're in the beautiful town of Leavenworth. Sweetheart said yes! I would love to! We kissed and cuddled up...then walked out of the gazebo and we were excited and got in our rental car and...went to the airport....

Yay, I've got some of you guys (I hope) on the Germany part, nope it's not in Germany...it's in Leavenworth, Washington which is about 2 hour drive east from Seattle. Its a town with a bavarian theme.

There's no engagement ring involved and I will not answer why.....All I can say we're happy to be engaged. Love is important than a ring and we're excited to get married in 2008 or 2009. We will have a offical announcement later on.

Here are the photos of us at the gazebo and a sneak peek of the town

Enjoy!

You would love Leavenworth, Wa also! There's about 25 percent of German people in that town.

you sneak! FC< >SEQ

BUT CONGRATULATIONS ANYWAY! i guess you saw sweetheart's threat about proposal last week or so! and you "beat" her to it i guess?

i have been to leavenworth, washington ("german" town)... it is a neat place to go to .... it was weird cuz it is on the other side of the mountains and it was colder there than it was in seattle! (in the summer time!) good thing my ex bf told me to bring a sweater! as soon as we got to the top of the mountain, the temps changed dramatically... i was like but we had a lot of fun there! that restaurant (the 3rd picture that you took) on the corner is where we ate at... and the food was so damn good! did you guys eat there???

CONGRATULATIONS, to you and Sweetheart !!

I've been in Leavenworth before -- a long time ago when I used to live in Seattle. Leavenworth is a lovely town and I love their heritage. I am glad you took Sweetheart there to show her around and everythin'. I can see that both of you had a good time together in Leavenworth and all.

Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!

Fiestychick, I already said the name of the restaurant and did describe what we ate, etc in my post. I haven't went to the one you went the last time u gone to leavenworth.

By the way, we also bought 2 leavenworth, washington est. 1906 coats with hood. 2 different colors, winks.

We sure did enjoyed the time being there and want to go there again this summer or fall (to celebrate apple harvest) in Wenatchee which is famous for washington apples. I saw lots of apple orchards when we left leavenworth on way home.
