Call for condom machines in schools

February 14, 2006

THE Australian Democrats want condom vending machines placed in South Australian schools.

Democrat MP Kate Reynolds said the issue was not one of morals, but health.
"The facts are simple: high school teenagers are having sex," Ms Reynolds said.

"They're not telling their parents but they're certainly telling their friends.

"We can't stop them having sex but we can stop them getting sexually transmitted diseases and we can prevent unwanted pregnancies."

Ms Reynolds said vending machines should be placed where students could buy condoms easily and without guilt.

"It is not for politicians to mandate other people's morals, but it is our duty to make sure people can make informed choices about their sexual health and contraception."

At school? :ugh2:

I can't image to have condom machines at schools.

What do you think of this?

I would not agree to this... It makes the kids think sex is okay for everyone but teach the children about sex responsiblilty, safety, etc. and let them know that the sex is not the fun for anyone.

I don't think the schools are the right place for this. If you're absolutely worried about children's access to this stuff then every drugstore and probably half the gas stations in the country have them.

But still, I don't think that's the best idea. Like Liebling says, the schools (unlike the drugstores) are there to teach responsibility and that's where their focus should stay.

I am sure that boys enjoy poping the young girls' cherries. I am sure that the parents teach the kids to use the condoms rather than losing their loves...

Don't you agree, Liebling?

 we are talking about condom machine at school which I disagree to.

If sex is a problem in school, then it might be a good idea to have condom machines. It would also be a good idea to spread the word to the parents so that the parents can talk to their kids about sex.

If sex isn't a problem, there's no need for condom machines.

We have condom machines everywhere at clubs, restaurants and public WC here in Germany... Germans rather to use condom machines to buy from supermarket or drugstores.

But school? I would not agree to this because it would make students think sex is okay for everyone. Its about teach children about sex protection/safety from diease... and unwanted pregnants and let them know that sex is not the fun for everyone.

I see different...

Example about my thread... I allow my children and let them know the sex is for responsible, not fun for everyone...

Which part do you see differently?

Parents are responsible for communicating with their children. If there is a problem at the school, then the school should be informing the parents of these problems. The parents are turning over their responsibility to the school while the kids are in school. If kids are getting their "sex fun" in school without the knowledge of the parents, then the parents have a right to know so that they can help at home. That's why the school should be informing the parents about what's going on. Since it's a big problem, then condom machines should be installed to encourage safe sex. If it wasn't a big problem, it would be encouraging sex... not just safe sex.

I mean condom at school. I think it´s not good idea to expose students to think use condom at school is okay... It makes them think it´s okay to have sex at school or break time...

I see no problem to communicate with my children about sex issues, sex education at school, TV or read magazines (not porn.) My children & I talk openly about sex issues... They have no problem to talk me anything because I´m open mind and have nothing to hide sex issues from my children but the problem is condom machine at school is not good idea...

Have condom machines at public like resturants, WC, clubs etc. is no problem but school?

That´s why I taught my children about sex issues an earlier before they hit puberty time.

I just asked my oldest son Danny (13) about condom machine at school... He thought the same as me as well.

Don't you remember your thread?

Wow, what a great idea to get condoms at any school...

It has nothing do with this thread here. How could you get RO against guy at school... It makes no sense to get RO because the children go same school... That´s why I said it´s nothing do with my thread here.

It sound that it´s okay for your son to play around with girls and protect your princess... You never know that one of students get condom from school then do something with your princess after school break time or during school... How you do know your children have sex at school?

Sorry, Liebling but I have to do this.

DeafGeorgiaLady :slap: all men in here who think it is okay to have condom machines in schools.

It is a stupid thing to do that. I do not agree about this. If the school system allows to have condom machines, then they are responsible to let men get women pregnant or give them STDS or aids or HIV because DEMOCRATS WERE THE ONE WHO PUT THEM THERE!

Why you said sorry to me? I do not agree to have condom machine at school, too.

I said that because it is your thread. I just wanted to slap men's back of heads.

I do not very much agree to that, how stupid of those ppl. I have seen condom machines in public restrooms almost everywhere I go and I just roll my eyes at them.

:D No problem, it´s great to have you to say directly what you think... I appreciate it very much. :thumb:

Oh yeah, I have seen public restroom, resturant, etc here in Germany... I asked people question about this. They explained that they don´t like to buy condom at supermarket or drugstore... They rather to have condom machine because nobody knows they have condom...

All what I am against to have condom machine at school. I´m glad that they don´t have condom machine at school here in Germany.

I know what you mean. I am against that too. I dont care about condom machines in public restrooms, just schools. We teach kids to learn better and so much better than just stupid condom machines.

About condoms, I let the man do that: he is the one who is going to be wearing it, not me so why do I have to buy condoms for him? lol his dick, he buys condoms! lol

Let's look at it this way.

Suppose you have a swimming pool at home. You have little kids who can't swim yet. Which would be best? Try setting up a fence around the pool with a locked gate and telling the kid not to enter... or teaching your kid how to swim and explaining that it's important to not swim without adult supervision?

In this case, which is important? Try to say "no" to having sex... or teaching your kid about sex and explaining how important safe sex is.

Why not? Any parent will file the RO/PO against the young lad. He should know better and he will be kicked out of the school without having condom vending machine and might attend to the alternative school.

There is nothing wrong with condom vending machine at school.

RO/PO vs. Condom Vending Machine. Which do you prefer?

Yes I already explain in my previous posts that I teach my children that sex is not the fun for everyone, etc...

Answer your question about Swimming pool... Let me tell you other example but it's true what I had an experience with my children...

I warned my children to not go deep pool but children pool... They "don't beleive" so I let them curious themselves... we were at deep pool & have them to us... Of course we were close to them... I put them to swim themselves... they was like  and panic... we picked them quickly as they start to drown and cuddle... They know what deep pool is & stayed at children pool.... See?

Every children are satisfy with their curiously after their experiment on new things.

Other example: I am candle lover and have 2 fire places. My children were toddler, that's time... I lit the candle and let my toddlers to touch it. I told them that it's Ooccchhhh hot... I point my finger to candle... Oocccchhh... My son look at me and was like "not beleive" & point his finger to candle... Occcchhhh hot.... They are satisfy and know now & never go near fire places, hot plates, candle, etc. Its about experiement to satisfy their curiously... It's an exactly same with condom... It makes children think it's okay to have condom because vending machine at school.

Condom Vending machines are everywhere in the public restroom, resturants, etc... Everyone can go to get condoms from vending machines but school?

If the parents teach their children to not do that then children will say to their parents.... "Why we have condom vending machine at school?" Accord my son, he think it's not sense to have condom vending machine at school because it seduce everyone to satisfy their curiously. He will ask his teacher about this today.
