Someone say before is very rare...not deaf people I know! So I curious...hoe many here 100% deaf?

Not me. Severe/profound. I hear quite a bit in low frequency..

I'm 100% deaf without my HAs but with my HAs I hear some stuff, so I guess no for me too.

I'm 100% deaf without hearing aids. I can't hear anything at all without them, unless a very loud scream close to my hear.

Totally deaf since a pre-teen (14). Never wore a hearing aid in my life. 4 surgeries, one more to come in November....no ear drums and my nerves are dead. So, all in all, I've been deaf for 50 years, still have my speech, along with the accent.

What are the surgeries for?

First one was for a rare ear drum disease....second, third and 4th were for severe ear infections (both ears). The surgery I have coming up is for Cholesteatoma in the left ear. Surgery has been pending since the beginning of the year, as the ear has not been dry enough to operate....And I'm already having 2nd thoughts of having this surgery, but the disease is growing, so I may not have a choice about it. And for those who have had this surgery, know that the disease does and can coime back again.

I am very pretty half not 100 percent,I am deaf and HA

I'm profoundly deaf yeah, but not 100% since you need some hearing anyway for your hearing aid to work and for me, it works a bit so I must have a tiny bit left, I cant hear anything without my hearing aid/implant, apart from very very loud noises

Wirelessly posted

Not 100%. Severe - only loud machinery, very low frequency. Speech no.

im profound, cant even hear a chainsaw without HA unless is next to my ear, it would be a distorted metallic razzing buzz like loud flies that's all

Nope.

I would say it's rare for a deaf person to be 100% deaf unaided and aided.

I believe that HorseWhisper is 100% deaf, but not sure.

I have been bilateral DEAF since December 20, 2006. Absolute silence.- which to me is total!
